I do hate the trope of weirdo characters taking karate classes with kids a little (thinking of the _Office_ episode too). It's definitely a much more popular activity for kids, but there ARE adult classes and organized events with serious adult skill haha. I suppose in not-sure-how-close-to-a-metro-center Indiana in the 80s, maybe Murray really had no other options, and the _Office_ we can accept for comedy's sake. I just have trouble picturing Murray in a class of 13-to-17 year olds without either thinking it's all beneath him or getting kicked out for making everyone uncomfortable 😆

@@jerodast Considering the size of Hawkins, it seems like a no-other choice situation for Murray. I'm sure he would take an adult skill lvl class if available. But given he's only been learning for a short time, he does pretty good The idea of Jeremiah beating him up on the regular (hence the ice bath) makes it funnier to me, especially if that is who he learned his fight mantra from 🤣🤣🤣

I wonder if they should have invested in a few more "little El" scenes while El was in Nina. I know they were probably expensive, but I've seen a number of people lose track and forget that she was years younger when all those memories happened. (Then, they were also to some extent exploiting that aspect of the story too, so maybe it's best they didn't? Dunno.)

I've seen a lot of reaction videos to Stranger Things and noticed not many have seen the anime masterpiece "Akira" (1988) by Katsuhiro Otomo. A few have seen Akira post Stranger Things and make reference to the Stranger Things. I had been a fan of the anime for a long, long time and had always felt that Stranger Things, regarding Eleven and Dr. Brenner and his lab of test subjects, was heavily "borrowed" from Akira. That being said, I highly recommend this channel to view Akira.

I think Eleven's powers, Brenner and the lab are more influenced by Carrie and Firestarter than Akira. But the Duffers have stated that there is definitely some inspiration there, what with the numbered children and all.

weird factoid about forming communities on private property. If you hold any type of regular group training of any kind, what to do in emergencies or even just for fun group shooting, you can be classified as a forming militia, and you will be raided and minimally have your things stolen and purposely broken. Laws get really fuzzy considering groups, and the bigger the fuzzier. a few communities were completely wiped out because they had their own ranges and held practice so no one would hurt anyone with them, feel safe in the wild, and so they could hunt. Government said you can't prove you're not a militia and arrested or killed everyone because they were armed on their property making them a danger to society...

So, I have a question. If Vecna always hangs out at the attic each time he snaps someone, and the power surge from this causes the surrounding lightbulbs to burst, why was the lightbulb in the attic still there for the party to find and witness explode when he snapped Patrick? Wouldn't the bulb have exploded on his previous snaps; e.g. with Chrissy? Or is there some poor, hapless custodian who keeps coming back to the house to replace them and wondering why that lightbulb keeps exploding.... 😁😁
