Am from Australia, can't understand why relatives don't care about what happens to this gorgeous historic treasure! The entire household contents are amazing and beautiful, really need saving. The architecture of the house is absolutely beautiful, it's almost criminal to let nature rot and ruin it! Thank you for filming it.🦘

Depending on the state this house is in and others abandoned full of items, it is possible the last owner went into a nursing home and ended up with Medicaid to pay for their care. When that happens, these states have a Medicaid recoup clause and homesteads are taken by the state to recoup the funds. Now, the state is not interested in the house but the land it sits on. Many are never put on the market to be sold. It's one way of the state to take back ownership of the land.

I can’t even stand how sad that such a grand home could be left to just rot away. All the antiques and original architecture would be worth a small fortune in total. Obviously not many people know about it or it would have been cleaned out and vandalized a long time ago. She must have been beautiful in her day. Horrible shame.

It happens, a couple owns a beautiful old house. Either they have no children or the children don't live near by and don't care at all about their parent's home or possessions. Or the kids simply can't afford to maintain the house or the taxes or there are no jobs for them in the area.

Great job of filming such a wonderful place !!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗😙 I'd love to be able to buy the house and contents and a decent amount of land around it and tottally fix it up like brand new BUT keep it TRUE to how it was built, then add on another section of bed/bath rooms, and such, have a full big porch top and bottom. Then build another building in the same style, to be used as a museum to show case the belongings, and what have you BUT of course be VERY respectfull of past family (s) to not invaide their privacy of course. It would showcase the history of the house and property. Fix up the property with gardens, trees, real veg. & medicine plants gardens, walking pathways, outside seating, big garages, place to park. Then use the property to live at, have a bed and breakfast, maybe a place folks could have weddings and stay at a wedding /full cottage in a pretty & private place on the property 💎I would also see about getting the place listed as a Historical land mark.💎 I'd like to have enough land with it to have and old fashioned carrage house/working barn or some horses, chickens, cows. Folks could have some nice carriage rides. BIG IMPORTANT THING that I'd like to make SURE OF is hopefully have a working plan that the house/grounds would be SAFE and well maintained after I'm gone, till then it would be great to share it with as many people as possible AND NOT CHARGE CRAZY HIGH RATES TO GET TO STAY THERE FOR A TIME. Well yeah, it's just a dream for now but the house deserves to go on. Folks who put so much work into building it so long ago and those past who've lived therr, now long dead, I think they'd be happy to see the above 'dream' come true. How's that dream sound?

I loved hearing the old train pass through. Moments like that shouldn’t be wasted. Think of the time when that home was in its prime and the old Air Force pilot and his lovely wife in the home of their dreams, just relaxing and to hear that old train come through town was a symbol of a time that America was thriving and full of people that were proud if their heritage. That home is a prime example of what our parents and grandparents were all about. Family was a sacred thing. Freedom was accomplished becsgse if that young msn you see in those pictures risking his life, spending months at a time away from his beautiful wife that he no doubt missed dearly. I’m sure those old letters from him to her were sone of her prized possessions. I can only imagine the love those two had for one another. Very good video buddy. The best I have seen yet. It saddens me to think that old hoise is falling to shambles. I’m sure the old couple would be proud to see it preserved. Simply amazing.

From my experience with the elderly and also elderly relatives many people may not have had children or passed away suddenly and actually don’t have anyone to leave things to may have been in a nursing home or hospitalized for a long time and didn’t have an estate plan and because there’s a lot of illegal stuff involved leaving behind properties and belongings to be assumed by the next generation or friends or relatives sometimes there just isn’t anybody assigned to it. My parents have a dear friend who is elderly luckily he has my parents he never married never had kids was hospitalized for six months fortunately my parents took care of his estate even his bills without them if he passed his home literally would’ve went to no one And his home would’ve become one of these places- it is that easy unfortunately.

Thank you. Brought back memories of my parents who wrote love letters when my father was in WWII. I, their daughter, am now 74 years old. The fact their letters and WWII items are still in the house indicates that the last resident was probably their son who left everything as his parents had it. I get the feeling he had no children. It is possible that any relatives may have died without surviving children. Very sad that no one to retrieve these personal items before the house falls in.

Hey Mr Big, how are you? I love the video and the seeing such a beautiful and well preserved family home from the early 20th century blows me away. Imagine how much of natures elements have entered into the house because of that open door. Not only the rain but animals are probably walking in and out of that house during the night and the day. I wish the state or some kind of welfare management entity would volunteer their time and do minor repairs to prevent such a beautiful home from deteriorating over the years. It would not take much to keep that house from falling apart. It's still in very good condition and preventive maintenance would do the trick. Also, just wanted to let you know that if you were in the military and your girl wrote you a Dear John letter, that would be all bad. Dear John is a letter that informs you that she found a new love and no longer wants to see you again. Imagine how hard that would be to receive one while fighting in the army. A lot of guys went awol after receiving one of those.

Heart breaking to see such a beautiful home falling apart. Equally saddening to see all of their things. Letters. Pictures. I bet he brought a lot of things home from other countries seeing he was military. Which brings me to wondering where his medals are. I pray family has them and continue to honor him. He definitely was reloading the ammo. I sold those along with the tool (wink) they go with. It was also common back then for them to reload their own as it was cheaper. The American version was developed around 1890 and brought back by Christian Missionaries from Asia. It is played with little "que sticks" and uses small "pucks" I only noticed after I found the info it says "Carrom" on the board itself.

New to this channel but think I will be diving into videos- do you ever go into history of why certain properties are abandoned? How do you get permission to go into these places and how do you find that they exist- do you travel a lot or can you find on internet? Just so curious… have done similar photography projects but usually only from the outside. Seems like you travel around to film these properties…I’m assuming that you get permission but maybe not. And maybe that is why the history is unknown? Any chance you can answer these questions so I don’t go crazy? Also this house was such an interesting mix of early - mid 1900’s with obviously a whole pile of 1980-2000 materials. While some rooms looked untouched by time, others clearly had not so distant life in them.

That's a Carrom board. It's similar to pool in concept. The pieces on ours looked like little red or green napkin rings. You have cues that are about 1/3 the size of a regular pool cue. We have one of those. I think there's a white piece, I don't remember all the rules, I haven't played since I was a child. It's been awhile. :-)

Absolutely gorgeous!!! This is such a sad, sad story 😢😞😰 All of the gorgeous feature’s in the magnificent home!!! All of the wooden furniture, wooden floors, doors, door casings, window, window casings, door transoms, banister, ceiling wooden decor…medal hardware on the doors, all sooo very beautiful!!! All sooo worth saving 👍🙏❤️All of the clothes, household items… if not wanted by family members, could have been donated!!! Someone would have loved to receive & utilize those beautiful items!!! Donate, to museums, libraries, homeless shelter’s, if no longer useful to you!!! Sad that the pictures, letters & personal belongings aren’t saved!!! Those items, once lost, can never be enjoyed again 😞😢😰 Memorabilia lost forever 😞😢😰 I would love to see, someone with money to afford to buy this place, save & restore this property!!! Sooo worth saving 👍🙏❤️ Thank you Bankz for sharing this wonderful story with us!!! I truly loved it ❤️❤️❤️

Is there any chance of any of these houses getting on a national registry? I never understand how people just leave all their stuff. If this was a relative I would want all of those pictures! And that roll of film

The room with the stuffed turkey was really creepy. But the one dresser had baby shoes that were bronzed. Growing up being cared for by older people they believed in saving their childrens shoes by bronzing them. They also make them into bookends. Those old hats were awesome. There are people that collect old hats. And they were in such good shape. The woodwork is stunning work.

It's sad that everything gets left behind. Who were the people that lived there, their history, their memories? Are any of them still alive? You can only wonder.

What a wonderful house. I wish it was closer to me. I'd find the money to get it and fix it. Thank you for the tour. You mentioned Explomo but never showed Maurano. I hope he's doing better and closer to getting to go home. Have a great weekend.

It just breaks my heart to see homes left like that. Usually you see signs of like an elderly grandma or grandpa who lived out their days there. But this home looks like an entire family just went poof 😢 I hope family clears those beautiful memories out before it’s to late.

The purpose of transom windows was to allow air flow. As fireplaces are for heating the house, transoms were for cooling. Heat rises and if it has nowhere to go, it comes back down, making sleeping in the summer miserable. So people would open their windows at night and allow whatever cool air came in to pass over them and out of the room via the transom window, making the room cooler and more pleasant to sleep.

Someone needs to stop that water leak, even if it's a temporary fix! Things are already going to decay and it's only gonna accelerate! Sad too see. 🥺 The screened in 2nd floor porch is my absolute favorite place in the house. Sit out there in the evenin and have a cold one 25:42. In love with the turkey too! 🤠 😉 26:11 Two great explores in a row Big Banks! Thanks! 👍👍👍👍👍 PS I belive the transom window rod is supposed to slide up and down and not turn. 27:27

Hi 😁 So this is a house that needs to live again! Your attention to all the things that brought characters to life. But no actors needed, just you and Explomo and the quiet.and hearing the old train blowing in the background.Sweet reminders of a softer time, The baseballs,Board battleship game, The hats of all kinds (antique)The real work involved in building the place, and the love letters of long ago. The exquisite furniture, beautifully designed. So glad you checked on this one 👌👍💖😁💥🥂

All these items need to be salvaged. It would be a catastrophe not to save them. And what has happened to the family?? It is a travesty to see all these wonderful things from the past just left to decay. And a building built so beautifully with such wonderful craft work as well. Thanks for video.
