Around 15 years ago Pauline passed away of old age and left behind one of the most incredible abandoned places in the world. This place has everything from a dining room with countless chairs until a sitting room with a grand piano! Countless bedrooms and bathrooms and just all the things a human being needs to comfort himself. We went there to see how she lived and documented her incredible life and her love for beauty and flowers. She lived here her whole life with her husband Gerard. The manor dates back from 1888 and was presumably from a previous generation. Join us on this adventure and thanks in advance for watching the video!

I guess that this shows that you never know how your "things" and your "house" will fair after you are gone. And that you cannot take your things with you. Maybe a good reason not too put too much attention to material goods. Had the window/doors been kept closed the whole time, everything would be in much better shape. I always ask why the children don't close their parent's house out and remove the personal items that you would think they would want to remember. Also, why not sell the place so some other family could enjoy it? Now it is probably too far gone with mold to be able to use unless you take it down to the studs. What a waste. This house must have been much grander when first built. The last residence seemed more like middle-class folks living in an older grand home. Good video. thanks for the details !

I live in west central Florida in a neighborhood of homes that are primarily the winter residences of retirees from the Northern states and Canada. Most of these homes are maintained by managment companies that keep them in impeccable condition year round, one particular home across the street from mine was built by a couple from Maine in1997.They wintered here Thanksgiving to tax time for 5 years, moved here full time in 2004.wife died 2007. Husband died 2010 fell in shower and died from internal bleeding.EMTS came, removed him from the home and locked the door behind them.It hasnt been entered by anyone for a decade. I suppose so long as taxes are paid and the grass is mowed....

I have breathing problems so know how it affects everything you do. If you have a bad leg you can rest it but, you can't ever rest your breathing boys. What's amazing is that with all the videos by many different people showing abandoned homes and buildings,,there are no squatters or anybody else taking up residence. I see videos where home owners go on vacation or in between tenants,,and squatters move in and change the locks,,and when confronted ,the squatters defend thier "RIGHT" to squat there!

Hello Guys, Great video as always. Thank you. Is there not any kind of historical society in France that can rescue antiques from places like this and restore and preserve them? It is such a shame to know that so many antiques that have great craftsmanship are just slowly rotting away only to be lost forever. I think it's wonderful to see that you and your friends have such a great passion for history, and great respect for the people that used to own these things and the homes. Btw the item that you thought was a VHS was called a reel to reel audio player and recorder. Cheers to you and your friends for all the great explore videos. Keep them coming. Thank you again from Canada.

I quite enjoy seeing things like this. Australia has history, but not as old and cultured as these old buildings and the story's they tell. The idea of history going back more than a couple of hundred years fascinates me, I guess because I live in such a 'new' country. I like this video and the fact that it seems genuine and not faked in any way, or dramatized. Well done!

Miss Pauline's 1888 house is inviting and charming. So is my dear Godmother's house, and so was the the 1871 house I grew up in: the original louis XVI frescos were still adorning the walls of the drawing room, like in many of the houses you explore. At times, there was even some quiet, calm and warmth to enjoy the atmosphere, with a nice fire burning in a fire place...

4:19 ..... Its a tape recorder popular in the 1960's era and very rare to find one except in the trash dump. I don't know anyone who still uses it, the tapes become brittle and break pre-dates the smaller tape recorders of the 1970's. Even with the mold this home is still salvageable and an amazing find many beautiful features and well worth saving. Lesley, its time to invest in a mansion such as this and restore it to its former glory whether in France or Belgium you can't go wrong with real estate. I purchased my first home when I was 17, and it was the best investment I ever made.

So many beautiful keepsakes and home. The duck is taxidermy. I always laugh because people get so excited about finding such things. I have a lot of taxidermy hanging in my house .My late husband was an avid hunter. I barely notice them hahaha Thanks for an amazing explore.

Great video! I love your storytelling & respect for the people's belongings. Maybe the family will collect the beautiful furniture once they see this video. Can you close the doors & windows to prevent further decay??

It's such a shame to see such nice things going to waste. To bad things like the beautiful table & upholstered chairs, the chandeliers even the piano could be restored. Someone needs to salvage this poor home.

I couldn't help but laugh 😆 when you described 🤣 what you thought was a record player. No, in fact it was a reel to reel player. I had one myself which I used to record family voices, unfortunately I lost them through my divorce. My ex wife never gave them to me. I had recorded family voices during the 1960's which included my grandmother's voice. She was born in 1883.

Very nicely done as usual for you. This home was predominantly furnished and decorated in the 1930s and forties. Some of the pieces carry good value in today’s world. It is always rather sad to see the detritus of a life lived through love, children, and the eventual loss of everything held dear. It looks like the ambulance came for her. And she was never able to return. I like the longer format, thank you for sharing this with us. Stay safe out there...and keep loving what you do.🖤🇨🇦
