The best tier I've seen. First, it is because resonates with mine, second it's because his assessment is overall assessment. Usually people in ST just go for likeabliity and how funny they are which is pretty silly imo. For me, there are three main indicators to assess a character: 1. Story and their role to the story 2. Actors / actresses performance 3. Their consistency And there are two characters/actress/actor that absolutely nailed all three indicators. That is Millie as Eleven and David as Jim. Both of them not only has very developed story and paramount role - especially Eleven - but also delivered consistently incredible performances every seasons, every episodes, every scenes, every dialogues, every lines. And the Emmy perfectly reflected my assessment. Both of them are the only two that has been nominated for Emmy, and both of them nominated twice.

I may be biased cause I love Sadie Sink, but she was my favorite too. I loved how brilliantly they used her trauma and guilt this season and how well she overcame it by remembering all the good thats still in her life. And her relationship with Lucas grew so strong, and Sadie's acting was top tier. Such a great season for her!

The list for me, I would consider how each character contributes to the progression of the show. I agree with your S list and add Joyce because she has always consistently been proactive. For the A list, I would move Jonathan to B because his character had significantly been reduced to nothing more than a lovelorn. For the B list, Mr. Wheeler is funny, but he hasn’t done anything except for being a funny NPC, lol. He can be moved to be with his wife in the C list while upgrading Angela to C and Argyle to B. Angela was nasty, and we don’t have to have an SOB story for her. She could be a prima donna. Argyle has contributed to our main characters by welcoming them to Lenora, giving them rides, being Jonathan’s friends, and giving him good advice. Jason will be an annoying antagonist, but I think he will have a defining moment in future installment to move up to the B list. As for the baddies, Vecna is a top-tier general. The Mind Flayer can be in the C category as it did manage to affect Eleven’s powers. The Demogorgon is just a foot soldier, but there is a lot of them, and they can also be in C or even in B because Dustin was able to influence one of them while it was a “Demodog.” Then there is Kali (or 008), the only other survivor from Hawkins National Laboratory. If Stranger Things brought her back to help El, her ranking would be a whole lot higher, but as of now, she should be in C for the sheer fact that she helped El to recognize her potential and where she belongs.

Max is overrated…don’t get me wrong, I loved Sadie performance and her character got better but she ain’t a S tier character. Dustin is the smartest one of the group and he is always creating the plans and everything, 11 is the muscle, Mike and Will are smart too and what does Max helps the group with? Nothing, she ain’t a S tier character and she is overrated.

el is a strong character who got through hell since her birth and I love how she loyal and protective with her friends and family. she just does her best to help even if ıt will hurt her and that is the story since s1. she has sad and awful backstory so She is just the best!

For real. His involvement in the story was being a sidekick of Nancy so far. Now that he isn't paired with Nancy in season 4 he has nothing to add to the plot at all.. He definitely lacks his own character to be put in the A tier..I'd put him in B at most.

I would personally have Jason at dead LAST cause he’s literally the most pointless and annoying character of the show who is soo hardheaded and gets on my last nerves and wastes so much time and of every story of not only this season but the whole show his is the only one that I legit HATE and HATE cutting back to and honestly I might even hate him more than s2e7 and you could’ve easily cut him out of the season and it still would’ve been the same and you could’ve found many other ways to kill Max

I'd also recommend watching Georgia Dow's video on him - she's a therapist and made a great analysis on how his mind works and why he's doing the things he does. He's really well fleshed out and putting him anywhere else other than in S-tier of a *Stranger Things* list is almost insulting.

I don't know how you can say she adds nothing to the group when she literally showed El whats its like to have fun and just be a teenager. She has one of the best relationships in the show with Lucas, and has a big impact on others like Nancy, Steve, and Dustin. And don't tell me all about how she way "annoying" this season when she was literally near suicidal and emotionally hurt for months. She doesn't have to be your favorite but how can you hate her? She has such a big impact with so many other characters.

And don’t put words in my comments I haven’t said because I never said I hate Max or that she was annoying because she wasn’t. This season made me like her but like my original comment said she isn’t a top 5 character. There’s other character with more complexity, more screen time and importance to the storylines and Max isn’t one of them. She’s like a top 6-10 character but she isn’t better than Hopper, Steve, Dustin, 11, Murray and Billy. And about the suicidal and emotional hurt stuff it was bad written because it didn’t make sense. Billy made her life a living hell, she hated him, they didn’t had a good relationship and she even admits it that she wished he died in a car accident so all that storyline of her being hurt was bad written. It was an excuse just to not have her with Lukas in the beginning to further the plot, it wasn’t a good idea tho.
