Periphery is great! If you haven't checked them out, I'd recommend doing so, their last 4 albums are godlike in terms of guitar riffage, massive drums and amazing Spencer's singing on top. If you fancy doing so, check out Reptile or Satellites from the last album, both are great songs and show that they can not only chug, but write some sweet, smooth and clean stuff as well.

Oh, I think I commented too early, haha. But as I understood, you haven't listened to exactly 4 of their last albums (Alpha, Omega, P3 and P4), so that's definitely gonna be a wild ride! I prefer their later stuff more, so thank you as always and I'll be waiting for your reactions!

periphery and animals as leaders are the two bands that got me into prog in like 2009-2010. the classics.

YESSS! That song is so good, when I first listened to it I was absolutely blown away, it was also the first periphery song I ever listened to and it really got me into the band. Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did

Love this band and they are awesome live. Spencer can sing anything. Other songs have some more harsh vocals. In my top 3 bands with Leprous and Caligula's Horse.
