The characters are not defined by those few things they have in common. And Eleven has become an iconic character, easily recognizable, even a Halloween costume. So I don't really see a problem in that regard. I highly doubt someone will dress up as the girl on IT for Halloween.

Angel Guerra well, i agree with her once in a while and I really enjoy her content, but sometimes I'm just not sure where she's coming from tbh. I really enjoyed this trailer and she picked it apart based on things that just don't bother me? Guess her criteria is different than ours. Still, her argument about some of the characters being too angry and the one comment about it looking too much like It, really annoyed me because it's not like the creative team was in cahoots with the It team, so how could they have known there would be some similarities??

You're mad everyone has guns? Im the opposite, I'm glad that they all have weapons to defend themselves against the monster, because I don't want any of them to get killed. Also, those people were torturing Hopper, so I don't blame him for screaming. Anyone would be screaming or uneasy in their situation. While I agree with you about the glows being powerful visuals on the show, I disagree when you said that "the strong scenes don't happen in the light." One of the strongest scenes from last season took place in the light during daytime, that scene where those bullies threatened to cut Dustin's teeth out and forced Mike to jump off a cliff, but Eleven saved him and Dustin accepted her. That proves that not all the strong scenes happen in the dark. Give the new characters a chance, if shows didn't create new characters, each season would feel the same. And they have to save Eleven scenes, not give them all away because it builds anticipation for her character and leaves us wanting to see more. Just be happy, it'll probably be good.

The last trailer is mostly always the "worst" but I still think the last trailer here was amazing - it showed more of the storyline compared to the other two trailers which were just more hype. Also completely disagree that people only care about Eleven.. if they cut Eleven from the show right now I'd still watch it. The reason this show is succesful is because how attached people get to the various characters, now while Eleven is the most loved she definitely isn't the only one. I liked that the trailers didn't show much of Eleven, she's kind of a mystery.

I loved this trailer. I think it looks even more visually stunning than season 1, and I am getting so much atmosphere. I also think that adding the new characters will allow for more discovery of the supernatural. I love the shadow monster, and I think it is really elegant, and quite beautiful. I don't quite get the disappointment in the trailer, but I respect your opinion.

Hi Grace! I don't think the opening shot takes place in the upside down, as we see in the previous trailer that Eleven reaches back through the portal to Hawkins still with her buzzcut. Here, she has her curly hair, so I think it is probably most likely that this takes place when she is back in Hawkins and the fact that it is snowing makes it look like the Upside Down and keeps her whereabouts unknown?

2:29 I think she’s actually in the “real world” in that shot. From the pervious trailer it shows her going through a portal directly after she killed the demagorgon. (Plus she’s wearing different clothes and her hair is longer) I think hopper knows she’s back, but she wants to stay hidden for some reason. So he leaves them in the woods for her to come get.

I think the reporter's timeline on the "crazy board" is of the night barb disappears. I think it's her time line ..Barb picks up Nancy, they leave the car parked and go to steve's place. I think Grace is right ... He will be investigating Barb.

I think the second season will be quite different! It seems less mystery oriented, more action/plot stuff. I'm curious! I think they might have been scared to fall into a trap or doign the exact same thing they did with the first season and make it too repetitive. I don't think its going to be difficult to differentiate the It characters and the movie itself to Stranger Things. Were familiar with everything Stranger Things because this is the second season and the audience is so in tune with the world so I think it won't be bothersome eventhough It just recently came out. There wasn't that much of eleven, and shes the main source of the show so she should have had way more screen time.

We could not differ more on the 360 shot of everyone arming up. That was the best shot in the trailer! It's like they are surrounded by this thing so it's the opposite of what you mention regarding vulnerability. It shows them very vulnerable and the only way they MIGHT make it out of this is banding together. In Season 1, we had different little stories that barely crossed paths (Steve never interacted with the kids IIRC). One of the reasons I really like the 360 shot is because we get to see them all together. It makes the Season feel bigger (I guess maybe that's what you were trying to explain. I agree that S1 felt more vulnerable in the sense that it was all very personal stakes). This Season it looks like they are upping the ante and making a monster that cannot be taken down as easily as the Demagorgon (thus, the military-grade rifles).

I really don't think the similarities between It and Stranger Things will bother people. Who doesn't love mystery and the 80's? You can't have too much of it!

I disagree with some of the issues you seem to have with what is depicted in the trailer. 1. Eleven isn't the focus in the trailers because of a few reasons. One is that it can be a double-edged sword to have a character that has become as Iconic as Eleven has become in such a short time. It’s great, but they can also overshadow everything else going on. The second is that I believe that we won’t be seeing much in the first 3-4 episodes. Most of that screen time will be used to introduce new characters and setup for the rest of the season. 2. So . . . . you believe that Nancy and Jonathan are not as good of a fit together . . . because she has a different hairstyle and a button-up coat? Other than the fact that a year has passed, which would mean that hairstyles can change and clothes can be purchased, there isn’t enough context to make any real deduction here either way on that point. I think it’s a real stretch to even make that leap in logic. 3. Everyone has a gun because they learned from last season that you better be ready for whatever the Upside Down spits out. Personally, this only makes sense if they are facing something or a bunch of somethings. I believe Nancy used a gun last season, Jonathan as well. Lucas has his trusty slingshot. As far as I can tell from the trailer, only Hopper and Nancy are holding guns. Possible Jonathan. 4. These supposed similarities you keep bringing up between IT and Stranger Things makes it sound like they stole some things from IT while filming. I doubt the Duffers saw any cut of the film that would have influenced their shot selection, wardrobe or hairstyle concepts in any way. Besides, Eleven’s hairstyle is supposed to look similar to Ellen Ripley in Aliens, despite it not coming out for another two years in the world of the show. Altogether, it feels like many of the conclusions here seem like a stretch. I do agree that this trailer isn’t as good. Too many flash cuts. I feel that they tried to stuff as much in as possible. It would have been better to take some stuff out and make it not feel as jittery, especially towards the end. Other than that though, everything else seemed fine.

Why do you hate/ why are you comparing this to IT so much. You realize that the novel was published in 1986 and if there were references to IT, it wouldn't be because of the movie this year but because if the book. And why do you compare them so much. They were filmed around the same time so it's not like ST would be copying the 2017 movie or anything. Just because both movies has kids in it doesn't mean that it has to be the same.
