I mean she is just as relevant in all of the seasons tbh. It’s just that the narrative had changed. She is not just this concerning mother that is perceived as crazy by the outside world that experiences these supernatural events while her son was gone. Throughout S2 she also kind of has the same vibe, but it is more so the concerning mother part, not as much crazy as it was before. S3 & 4 is more so a voyageur, because here she is more so involved with the adventures of what the kids & Hopper experiences.
