You are so right Rob. I met him when he was on tour in Canada many years ago. What a great man. He actually sat and talked with us. He had a great sense of humour as well. May he RIP.

I just cannot take this lineup seriously - Jet Black original drummer: missing; Hugh Cornwall original singer: missing. How is this "The Stranglers"?
@brianchidley98044 жыл бұрын
It's the Stranglers because that's JJ, and that's Dave (RIP), and that's Baz, who has been playing with JJ, and Dave, AND Jet for the past 20 years. Jet can't tour anymore because he's 81 years old. And Hugh CornWELL stopped being Hugh around 1985. He's the one who left in the early 90s. Since then, JJ was pounding out "Tank" on his signature Bass like a boss and Dave was still showing off with "Golden Brown," while Hugh was somewhere doing slow versions of "Ice Queen."
@davewootton46624 жыл бұрын
@@brianchidley9804 well said, saw them in the 70's and the 2010's and enjoyed them just as much..still got it and the music speaks for itself no matter who plays it...saying that bit unsure about how the next tour will pan out with the sad loss of the keyboard maestro..

@matthewblack58604 жыл бұрын
@@kevcatnip7589 that wanker as you say is Baz Warne who has been in band since 2000 and lead vocals since 2006,a nice bloke and not a wanker, but I guess you are?

Yes I resonate with Hugh Cornwall. Its not the same, but it's probably great if you really love them.

Really, well Hugh left in 1990,so Baz who does Hugh's role took over lead vocals in 2006.

Jet is a better drummer, this guy kind of ruins that amazing Peaches shuffle. And for the rest, blah blah regret Hugh of course, JJ still doesn't properly nail the intro to No more Heroes with his uninteresting antics instead, and the mighty Dave is the only one still being amazing - may he rest in peace and be remembered furevva andevva. Wondering who is going to replace him...
@degsdexter3 жыл бұрын
At 1 min 50 secs i turned it off. Frickin embarrassing. Where is the excitement? Where is the tension? Where is the agression? I,ll tell ypu where. They lost it when Hugh left. No Hugh no Stranglers.
