What's the difference between a Strategy and a Roadmap?
In this video I walk through the difference using Tesla's 'master plan' as an example.
To put it simply a Strategy is how you're going to realise your vision, it's the details and context that informs your roadmap. Your roadmap is then a visualisation of that into actionable sequence of events.
Disclaimer: Because someone will likely make a comment about it... I am neither pro or against Tesla's or Elon Musk. The reason why I use this example is because most people know Tesla and therefore it's one of the best examples I've found that a) illustrates the difference and b) the majority of people can relate to.

Thanks! 🙏 Glad it resonated and agreed. Many organisations mistake goal setting and the roadmap for strategy. Both common causes for what Richard Rumelt calls “bad strategy” in his book Good Strategy Bad Strategy.
