Loved this song back in the day and they did a great job replicating the original! Sing It Live is a band I follow on KZbin. I think they split off from HSCC awhile back.

I’m sure you know, the keyboard player, Darren Mullen, is the other half of the partnership (with Con Delo) which created Hindley Street Country Club. Darren’s part was the sound engineering - the beautiful authentic sound, and attention to detail. Unfortunately they split up before the HSCC started touring. I’m still sad about that. I have seen HSCC 5 times, but never with Darren. While HSCC are brilliant, Darren added a bit of extra polish to the sound that they haven’t been able to replace. You will see Darren in the lineup on the older songs on the HSCC KZbin channel. Sing It Live operate in the same way as HSCC. A huge roster of excellent musicians - which they swap in and out, depending on what they need for any particular song. Quite a few of them were part of the original HSCC family, and when the split happened some went with Darren, and others stayed with Con.

Like you Chris, I've only seen the current incarnation of HSCC live so I can't comments on the original experience. Things did initially feel less ... confident? ... with HSCC's recordings after the split, but I feel like both groups have really found their feet now and are standing proud as individual entities with their own sound 🙂And luckily for fans from all around the world, we get to enjoy the work of two professional groups showcasing the amazing musical talent in lil ol' Adelaide! 😄

Where sing it live wins over hscc is their four female vocalists, all great singers in their own right. However I think hscc and sing it live are both great bands.

Yes Andy is very good but hscc also have some good male singers but now only one female, that was my point. As I said both bands are great anyway.
