Nice reaction, yes, Aurora is so captivating it is one of her many superpowers. This is one of my many top tier favorites live performances by her, there are so very many, lol. Thanks.

I remember the first time I heard her voice it was so angelic. Not to long after I ran into this live performance just to find out she can perform even better then her angelic voice can sing. She was born for this

Another stellar performance from the Vevo studio!! All of her performances from there are always so special and especially this one!! She is so graceful and floats thru the space like its water. And the tone in her voice (not to mention that belting cry) is so powerful and demanding and I just love it.

Seriously Aurora takes the art form of music to another level,I saw her live for the forth time a few weeks ago at the Royal Albert Hall and she simply was sensational,I’ve no doubt in my mind that I witnessed something special that night as I have never seen so many people in tears myself included especially at the end as she performed one of most beautiful emotional songs I’ve ever heard.Breathtaking ❤️

Thanks for this! I love how she starts appearing to cast a spell with her eyes and hand movements. It works on me and you too obviously. Almost makes me believe in magic. She said that in earlier times she might have been burnt as a witch…. I believe it!

Between 1:09 and 1:29 she reminds me of the movie Donnie Darko (2001). It's like she sees one of those liquid-like spears and follows it to the keyboard and microphone.

Great reaction to one of my all time favourite live performances. You picked up on what I consider, 2 of the most important aspects of this video, Aurora's interplay with the camera, and the way she convey's emotion, which is very deliberate, and her stated mission in life. That dance between Aurora and the camera, who are in total synch is amazing. I wonder how much Aurora choreographs that with the camera operator in advance, and how it is done. Choreography, is a huge part of Aurora's performance, and she is a very fine dancer, who has a fine grasp of organic movement.
@art_by_accidentАй бұрын
Agree, but I don't think choreography is the right word. It appears to be mostly spontaneous, just excess energy finding an outlet - like that lovely flip of the hand on her forehead at the end.
@stephenbarlow2493Ай бұрын
@@art_by_accident - I agree with the spontaneity of Aurora's gestures, looks and movements. What I was specifically thinking with the camera operator, and Aurora, was them working out roughly where she would be. The framing is so good, and the camera operator would have to know exactly where Aurora would roughly be at every stage, to achieve that, if it was going to be a one shot take. It could just be, that spots were worked out, in advance, and the rest was spontaneous.
@art_by_accidentАй бұрын
@@stephenbarlow2493 Yes, obviously they must have had some "you go here first, and then over here". That's just sensible planning. Arora does use choreographed elements in some videos, of course, like Starvation and Apple tree. But what we see here feels more like her "normal" stage persona.
@stephenbarlow2493Ай бұрын
@@art_by_accident - I've just watched it again, to confirm my impressions. Aurora was very much working in synch with the camera operator throughout. They are using very tight framing, and excellent composition, with very precise focus pulling. To an extent, wider framing can have been used, say 8k, and then cropping to frame in post. Although this couldn't have been done with the focus pulling. Meaning, that the camera operator must have been able to know in advance, and anticipate Aurora's movement, to quite some degree, throughout the whole shoot. They are using quite a few camera movements. Maybe they did it in a number of takes, but whatever, the camera operator must have been working very closely with Aurora, who I would have thought, had done at least one rough movement throughout the scene. Remember, Aurora is a trained dancer.
@art_by_accidentАй бұрын
@@stephenbarlow2493 Yeah, you're right. I'm a protographer myself (still, not video) and this kind of tight tracking and tight focusing needs tight planning. But then, that's just how you recognize great work: they make it look so easy :-) At this point, we should be grateful that we have artists like Aurora who are still performing live at all. These things are usually thoroughly fake - head over to the excellent "Wings of Pegasus" youtube channel to get a reality check on the sad state of live performances these days. The industry standard now is miming to backing tracks, and when there's a real voice it's heavily autotuned. It may well be that there's a little bit of added backdrop here, and maybe even the odd pitch corrected note, but Fredrik controls looping with foot pedals and it probably could be all live. That's a rarity.
@johnytwoАй бұрын
You are the first reactor to mention the low note on the keyboard. Exactly!
@staffankarlsson1428Күн бұрын
The deep bass notes are probably played by Fredrik (the guitarist/mandola player) with his foot pedals, as he does from time to time. In another VEVO video from the same occassion - "Some Type of Skin" - his feet and the pedals are visible which they aren't in this video. Auroras bass note playing doesn't fully match with what we hear, if you look closely. And the bass notes are still playing when she stops (no looping on that). The looping of her breath is also controlled by Fredrik I think (or a technician).

This will become a classic. I prefer this Vevo arrangement to the studio track. Always best live and in concert, something else, her "talks". If you have been to one you will understand.

She is captivating and always has a little devilish look into the camera like a school child that has just done something like put a whoopi cushion on the teacher’s chair and she alone knows what we are about to witness
