I´ve loved this album for almost 40 years, since I was a teen. Great music.!

Tangerine Dream is one fascinating group. This song is probably one of their most complex compositions. Its scale is so mysterious yet so soothing that one could almost fall asleep to it. It's amazing to imagine all of the thought put into it.

Saw TD live back in very early 80's in Newcastle and Dusseldorf, still got the original vinyl copy of this somewhere, this does sound very different from the original as noted by others a lot brighter with different bright synths.
@Yannisastra16 жыл бұрын
I think that TD's music is called Krautrock, a progressive-electronic-psychedelic Rock style which was experimented in Germany during the late '60s and early '70s. Usb600 is right saying that after so many years their music still sounds innovative.

In Germany we call it just electronic music of the Berlin style (Berliner Schule) because all of the musicians/bands started their career in Berlin (West), except Kraftwerk. Krautrock is more or less the German way of progressive rock, the electronic rock scene is just a small fraction of it. And many bands are still on tour.

Great analogy. Did you know that New Coke was just a preplanned scheme? The joke was on Pepsi, because it tasted like a mockery of it. The idea was to make people react like "Yuck, this is like Pepsi" but the whole time Coke had its "Classic Coke" stacked up in warehouses, ready to be shipped - knowing how much people were going to want it back. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever get the classic T Dream back. Dudes get old and can't be replaced. The newer mixes all have that icky gloss.

i just saw the movie "Tron- the Legacy". Musical influences from Tangerine Dream are all thoughout the soundtrack by Daft Punk. As the credits rolled and on the screen it said "Original music by Daft Punk", I felt I was a witness to a crime. It should have said " Tangerine Dream music by Daft Punk," Come on Daft Punk! Give credit where credit is due!

They have also made music for movies like Near Dark starring Lance Henriksen (one of my fave actors) and others (cant remember any other on top of my head). But do search here on utube for tangerine dream stratosfear and choose the one that says, Tangerine Dream - Stratosfear from the same named album, released in 1976. by NieelzzZ

I fully agree with you, a human must rule his instrument. I like TD or KS and so on very much, and I know they rule their instruments. Did you really think they sit in front of their synthesizers just to switch them on, and then, what You call the circuits, came into "live"? Man, that is crazy. They act like a conductor who "switch-on" a musician who had to play what the composer think he had to play with his instrument.
