I didn't think it would work, but it turns out it works exactly as you predicted. 4x time warp literally multiplies the impulse by 4, which greatly reduces the number of decouplers you need. That said, it still sucks. Instead of an effective ISP of 10 s, you get 40 s, which is still very low.

@@OrangeKnight No, well, yes, congress is made up of retards with double citizenships, but NASA is not innocent either. If private companies like Space X can achieve more in less than a decade with less budget, then NASA has no excuses. Billions invested on long range satelites (which I don't complain about) instead of developement of a manned mission to...anywhere. Add to that a general lack of main objective and you have NASA. The SLS has no reason to exist if space X manage to build their heavy variant with similar payload and being beyond less expensive.

I'm trying to minimize my use of exploits when I can. Obviously, the lithobraking and decoupler physics are exploits, but I did not use any aero exploits for this mission. If I were using say the heat sheild offsetting trick, I wouldn't need 2 stages to get to Minmus: I could reach escape velocity from the launchpad without overheating. Also, didn't use part clipping for once!
