I made a gmod video of a story of one of my encounters with the kraken. You don't have to fly into jool's core with a parachute to end up in space at 10x the speed of light. You can achieve the same effect just entering eve's atmosphere with a parachute, and time warping a bit. It really is air resistance.. For some reason, when the game, even for the briefest moment, fails to calculate air resistance, it just goes "SCREW IT" and flings your craft and its parts in every direction going mach squared. It can also do this with water. I've been kraken'd just trying to land an aircraft in the water with parachutes, only to suddenly be flying in a disembodied cockpit module at 700m/s... Thank god for kerbal parachutes..

another way you can get a landed state, from my experience, is travelling over the surface and breaking/exploding a part of the craft on terrain

Just watched this regarding the time and frame rate. KSP was created using Unity as I recall that allows you to make games using high level programming languages like C# ...BUT the tradeoff is it uses floats for backend calculations and its reserved functions/classes; and this slows down larger datasets with many variables. - like many rockets with cross-feed to calculate. KSP2 was meant to have been designed away from Unity and built from the ground up and it's likely the Kitty version (avoiding copyright issues) that is in the works should also be ground up programing using lower level programming. The larger and better the game the more there will be a necessity to work from the ground up.
