What an amazing recording! The dynamics along with tempo was handled extremely well throughout this incredibly difficult transcription. I find the slower tempo that you chose very fitting. There are some small sections i would’ve played slightly faster, but to do so one must sacrifice some clarity. I also think that the parts from the orchestral version that you added to this version sounds incredible. Especially in the finale those octave tremolos at the end improves this transcription a lot.

I like that the grace notes at 1:22 and 3:44 from the orchestral Firebird was added back in

I believe there are many things that one may add from the orchestral score that would make the piece only better!

Thanks so much! It's not enough just to play 'fantastic' at a competition like this one, because everyone plays pretty fantastic there: this was the round where only 24 people from many hundreds of finest applications have been admitted. I guess many other factors like: luck, tastes of jury and public, smallest shades of opinions and a today's shape of the performer, even a time slot of a performance, all this has a huge importance.

Your virtuosity blended into the background, that's how effortless your technique looks & sounds! ❤ Music competitions are really absurd in my opinion, how can one compare art of equal calibre? Like you said, it's about luck and pleasing some pompous jury 🤷🏻‍♀️
