Those fruit beers are wonderful (in Belgium: 'kriekenbier'), I dilute them with soda water 50-50. Also makes a nice fresh summer drink!

Hey, Chef Tim, I tried it with a summer ale and it was pretty tasty. It was like a strawberry lemon beer mojito and was smooth. Next time, I'll try it with a lager or fruit beer. Great recipe and cheers!

I imagine a dry apple cider would also make a great substitute for the beer. I say dry so as to not overwhelm with sweetness and balance it out a bit. I'm not a fan of white rum though... or mint... what am I even doing here? Oh right, strawberries and beer. Lol.

krssnoop It definitely would. You could even substitute the strawberries for raspberries and make the whole drink raspberry flavored. Experiment and find what tastes best for you, that's how great new recipes are made!

Wow! looks delicious, I'll make it some day! But I've always seen the mojito with brown sugar. Why do you use caster? Can this mojito be prepared with brown sugar too?

It's only cause countries like Cuba produce cane so they use brown. In the end it doesn't really matter.
