Strawberry Cake Made in the Food Processor

For the strawberry layer:
1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) butter, melted
1 Lb. fresh, in-season strawberries, hulled and sliced lengthwise in half
1/3 cup sugar
For the cake layer:
1/2 cup (1 stick; 113g) butter, softened to room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
2 large eggs
The grated zest of a lemon
1 1/3 cups sifted self-rising flour
1/2 cup whole milk
The baking dish I used is 7 1/2 inches wide by 12 inches long
Oven temperature: 350°F
Baking time: 30-35 minutes

Hello Kevin, Yes, I watched Her also and my heart broke when Phyllis lost her husband Bucky and then about a year later she suffered so bad and she was gone also. We do get so attached to our Cooking Show's and and wonderful You Tubers that take time to share Their Talents, Recipes and Interesting Topics. This reminded me of America's Test Kitchen's recipe for pound cake. It's made with a food processor too. Incredible pound cake, but you stir in the flour by hand. Every time I make that cake I amaze myself. The food processor does an incredible job of creaming the butter and sugar.

I will do it with fresh backing powder, let the cake cool before un molding. It looks delicious. Can also substitute other fruits like Italian plums.
