Let's head out into the garden to pick strawberries. Welcome to the first episode of the summer season! This week, I make Strawberry Chamomile Jelly, Strawberry Fruit Leather, and Strawberry Pop Tarts. These familiar childhood favorite snacks can easily be made at home with farm fresh seasonal ingredients. My big orange cat, Bean, loves your videos (as do I) and comes and sits and watches them. At the bird close ups, he gently puts his paw on the monitor and pats. He is probably trying to murder them in his own way. But when it flipped to you baking he turns around with the MOST disappointed look then sighs and goes back to watching. Not only do you bring ME joy but my cats are entertained too! :)

I so enjoy your channel and videos. I don't know if you have made the strawberry pop tarts before, but your dough should be like pie dough. Overworking it will make it tough. And the fruit leather, if you find it tough maybe try spreading it thinner. Also be careful adding water it could possibly cause it to mold in the jar. Everything looks so scrumy. I do miss picking my own strawberries, but hopefully I'll find some at my local farmers market and make preserves. I like pieces of fruit in my jam. And I also have a wonderful recipe for strawberry spoon cake also know as lazy woman's cobbler that's dead simple and wicked good. Enjoy your strawberry treats! 😋👍🍓

wow! so much chamomile! i struggle to grow it here but I try every year; your gardens are looking so lush & am just wondering why you're putting a fence around it? hope it's a nice fence to match the cottage feel you have going love your videos thanx for sharing

Yes, the chamomile is the most productive it has ever been. I just started to cut it down yesterday evening so that it can have a fresh flush of growth, but I've been avoiding it since I love seeing their happy little flowers so much! The fence is to protect against our chickens (we love to free range them, but they love to eat all of the lettuce LOL) and for the first time we had deer eat a lot of our garden last summer so we need some protection!

Oh no! I have often felt the same way. We are in garden zone 5b and it's so difficult to watch people closer to the equator have produce months ahead of us. But there is beauty in colder climates, too!

What do you do with the chive flowers? I took an herbal class years ago and the man said he would infuse vinegar with them. They would turn the vinegar lavender.
