idk how studio bones made bakugo look even MORE dead than what he looked like in the manga, but they did it. something about how piercing red his eye was at the beginning of the episode and then the dullness in it at the end AMAZING

Wow man this broke me especially knowing it was coming after reading the manga they truly showed how beautiful it was!!! a last attempt to catch up to Izuku with all his might with no thought of the repercussions. 😭😭 the music, the VA, the animation was amazing!!!

Of the few reactions that realized that bakugo's whole monologue was a farewell, they were just as quick to go into denial. Goodbye bakugo, you were a great hero.

Bakugo predicting Shiggy's moves wasn't a quirk. That was just Bakugo being paying attention and being battle-savvy.

Bro is the most adaptive character in the anime. Almost as analytical as Deku but much more battle-savvy as you mentioned

The interesting thing when they showed Nejire's backstory is that her story parallels with Bakugo. She was also born with an amazing quirk, but instead of Bakugo changing personality because of it, it changed other's perception on Nejire. She could've become like Todoroki.

The way quirks change people and others' perception of them seem to be a prevalent theme. We've also seen it with villains like Toga.

The episode keeps showing how Bakugo is now learning things Deku learned long ago - realizing explicitly that Deku already went through these things like predicting the enemy's moves, never giving up on a fight, etc. When he was studying Shigaraki, he was emulating Deku consciously. Even his sudden power-up, where the sweat is coming out and exploding from his entire body instead of one spot like his hands, is a variation on Deku learning how to do Full Cowling, keeping the One for All power charged up through his entire body continuously. In this one fight, Bakugo went from trying to be better than Deku as his primary goal, to learning from him. Bakugo meeting that All Might vestige - while it could have just been his imagination, I think it was a combination of his having held the power of One for All briefly in the second movie, and his close relationship with All Might, that enabled that to happen.

I agree with most of what you say, in that he's clearly emulating Deku in the way he's analysing the fight before jumping in, whereas he usually uses his superior battle instincts to adapt in the moment. Also that this new state is similar to full cowling. He has been learning from Deku for a long while now, he said he'd do as much after DvK part 2. That he'd observe others and add it to his repertoire to surpass him. Right now he's still trying to catch up to/surpass Deku, not out of pride, but because he's afraid of being left behind and reduced to a person who can only watch and do nothing. My one real nitpick here is about Katsuki attributing the fighting through pain/never giving up thing to Deku. You're right that this is indeed what the text is saying, but I'll make a bold claim and say the text is wrong lol. We've seen in Katsuki Bakugou: origin (not a random chapter! His ORIGIN chapter!) that bkg would gladly break himself in order to achieve a victory in his own terms. It reminds AM of what Deku does to his own body, which is why he knocks out Bkg in that fight. And THIS was before Bkg was willing to learn from Deku. Bkg attributes that attitude to Deku, but it's something they've always shared. They both have self destructive tendencies when it comes to achieving the win/save that they want.

I still find its sad that they took the amnesia route with Bakugo regarding bis possession of one for all but when he had it, he also instantly mastered full cowl. Meaning he listened and watched deku intently as he trained and rambled.

"goldfish poop" is a literal translation from the Japanese, but it's actually a metaphor for “an unremarkable person who is just being pulled around by another (more remarkable) person". The official Eng release of the manga did a good job, I think, by translating it as “Izuku Midoriya’s hanger-on-a minnow in One For All’s wake.” One more heartbreaking thing about the manga panel of that last scene, you could also see the bruises from Shigaraki's fingers on his neck. Horikoshi was out for blood when he drew it 😢

He saw All Might's vestige because of the short time he had One for Alll in the 2nd movie. A piece of Bakugo was attached to One for All but not completely. That's why he sees All Might's vestige but not all the others.

To add more weight to it, it’s so much more emotional seeing Aizawa yell out to save Bakugo, he’ll graduate and pursue the number 1 hero spot 😭😭 this episode brought so much pain 💔

Its been amazing watching Bakugo's character growth, and its one of the best written I've ever seen. I'm not sure if you've seen any of the MHA movies, but Horikoshi has confirmed they are all canon. With that said, the movie Heroes Rising will help explain why Bakugo's eyes glimmer like that when his quirk awakens and why he has the privilege of seeing the AllMight vestige in his last moments.

The last farewell speech, I knew it right when I saw the Vestige of All Might. Many reactors missed it, I was crying the full speech, the OST was god tier as well. Then the Bakugo's Mom scene broke me. Many people were in Denial maybe because he was such a cherished character? Can't wait for Deku to see this and SNAP. The next episode delay doesn't help either.

They really could have waited with new op/ed for two more episodes. Old opening and ending would hit so hard this and next week, as they both directly refence this scene for Bakugou.

Little correction nejires pike attack didnt missed as nejires quirk was explained it was said that it was slowly as it travels around than straight forward so in that scene she form her energy into a drill then change it back to avoid piercing bakugou (which didnt last long tbh rip form him 😂😢)

I am anime only, so no spoilers in my comments, these are just my interpretations on what happened. I dont think Bakugo was seeing the future, I just think he was studying Shiggy's movements and learning his "tells" so that he can anticipate him when he engages again. Basically showing that he hadnt given up, he was still in the fight. And with Bakugo seeing All Might, I believe that was bc of what happened in the 2nd movie, and Bakugo getting OFA. I think his line where he says "oh, thats right" was him remembering that, bc he had forgotten getting OFA at the end of the 2nd movie. He had that ember of OFA deep inside him, allowing him that moment with All Might just before his death. Amazing episode and great video

Remember... in the second movie Bakugo had One For All briefly in the fight against "9"... he IS connected to OFA now... that is why he could see Allmight's vestige in the vestige plane. It's similar to the thing that happened to Star and Stripes... when she died/was dying... her vestige/quirk materialized in the vestige plane of All For One.

I was also thinking that instead of "Prominence Burn" he was gonna self-destruct as well, and I was just expecting an attack name like "Sacrificial Star", "Final Flame" or "SD Kugelblitz" or SOMETHING new, damn! But no, it's shonen, so nobody important ever dies, even if they deserve it and would be redeemed in death through righteous sacrifice of self. Lame AF
