Not necessarily stray. My neighbors had a cat and she just couldn’t stay when they divorced and the woman left. She went to many places until she found a new home.

Came across this, The Rules For Stray Cats= 1. Stray cats will not be named. Cat, Fluffy, Boots, Mittens, Whiskers, etc, are descriptions, not names. 2. Stray cats will not be fed. In the house, not fed in the house! 3. Stray cats will not be let in the house. Unless it's cold, or raining, or snowing, because that's only right. 4. Stray cats will not be allowed on the furniture. Without putting a towel down first. 5. Stray cats will not be allowed on beds. When the beds are being made.
