I live in a community with community cats. Meaning TNR Cat colonies. I feed three of the older ones and make sure they have water. But it is not expected that when residents move these cats are their responsibility to bring or find homes. They are a colony. Just saying because people like me are buying food from our own pockets so the colony has food. Even at $1 dollar a day ( which it is more than that), that would be $365 for the year for the few I look after. People do what they can. Residents who move away are not evil, cruel, heartless. This can take over your life if you let it. I just paid hundreds of dollars to Rover to feed them while I was gone on vacation. I moved here from out of state and it was already this way when I got here. I had no idea.

​@@TheQueensWish I respect people like you and I agree with you if this were the case but not every case is like the case where the cats have a colony. And even if they do have a colony, if the cat is a pet, they will have a time of day where they will go home (indoors) for comfort and possibly some TLC. Pet cats get attached to their humans too and will feel abandoned as well. They have feelings too but not every cat owner realise this. This case is obviously showing an irresponsible cat owner if the commentary is true where the neighbours took action. The cat was not neutered and the fact that winter would be harsh is no place to abandon a pet cat.

@@wayneuynhan5624 Most of the neighbors here are indifferent to the cats of the street and a few are hostile. The feral cats are not friendly and fear humans. They come for the food and that is it. No petting and they are very quiet. They don’t meow. They have no feelings for me. I’m just a food person to them. They also pee on everything outside. They would not be suitable to be inside because of this. I’m glad the cat in this story and her kittens will not have this life. I hope they have better lives than the streets.
