I am not claiming ownership over the music or the music video that I am reacting to in this video. I am reacting to the video/music to give criticism and point out different aspects of the original content to create dialogue and intrigue for the KZbin community. My goal is to spread awareness of the original creator/artist through humor or commentary to promote the original work while adding entertainment to reach more audiences. I believe I have added enough original content to the original video to make it a different video and to not be a substitute for the original piece of work.
I am not trying to rip off the original artist in any way.

I've made many a mistake in my 43 years of life, and deciding to go all in with Stray Kids roughly 1 1/2 years ago, was not one of them. In fact, I've taken my children, and my husband, along on the ride with me. Baby-Stays in the making in this household. These boys are just pure talent.

Hey I'm 35, always nice to see Stays a bit older like me 😊🖤 I am a rock (visual kei, grunge, indus, glam, punk, new wave...) fan since I was 13yo, did not expect to become a STAY in early 2019... I just regret not getting into them when I heard Hellevator late 2017 and was very attracted and impressed by it...

The fact that 6 out of 9 members in their beginning during District 9, were teens and their leader was only 21 and they were (and still are) producing and writing their own music... it's literally unfathomable to me. StrayKids are absolutely incredible and the definition of gifted.

And because I forgot a couple: double knot and hall of fame. I was only a fan of girl groups until stray kids, because I thought that boy groups had to be cringe - yet… there were these authentic, humble and talented guys sharing their music and they connected with me on a level only Soyeon (G)I-dle had. And I didn’t enjoy watching dance practices until Stray kids… I’d check out District 9’s dance practice and Double Knot’s.

@@the_talking_muffin I find girl group dances lacking in impact a lot of the time, which is fine. I love my girl groups - but guys can apply such power in their movements that give such an impact. One of the most important things for me in really getting into groups is their live performances - and stray kids has got to have the best chemistry and stage presence. There is a version of them doing Blackpink’s Ddu ddu ddu ddu from Kingdom. It usually gets blocked on KZbin if you don’t alter the video but it’s so so good.

I'm a 49 yo Baby Stay who found Stray Kids through my son. I've watched more reactions to SKZ than i care to admit but have Sub'd because you get it. I love their message. I love the depth of authenticity that comes with the fact they create their own beats, write and produce all their music and choreo. I love that they are serious about their craft, but don't take themselves too seriously, as you pointed out. Comeback season approaches and I hope you will be ready to share the experience with all of Stay.

I never get tired of people’s reactions when they realize they’re an official Stray Kids fan.😁 Seeing the giddiness alone just makes me so happy. I totally relate. LOL. It took about three weeks of a deep, deep dive into SKZ’s music and their Survival show to feel comfortable calling myself a STAY 😊. Don’t know if I’ll ever get to see their concert but I’m a STAY for sure! Feel free to join us!! Maniac and Venom are two of my all time faves as well. I definitely like a hard edge to my music, although I have definitely fallen in love with ones like “Case 143 and Cheese”. Please give “Freeze” a watch. It is also up there with Venom and Maniac in my humble opinion. Victory Song Side Effects (Felix’s voice is showcased big time ) TOP They should all go on your list too.😂 They have SO many amazing songs with so many different styles as well as meaningful and/or beautiful lyrics. I HIGHLY suggest Slump and Voices. You do you, friend! Selfishly I’d like to see more SKZ reactions as often as you want to do them. I enjoy your honest, and thoughtful opinions. Keep on keepin’ on!

You'll love their lyrics more when u realize how reflective it is of their ambition, their anxiety, and how recent songs can answer back their older songs, as if closures to their anxieties. For example, S Class is the best sequel for their older song "TMT" Skz's discography is a journey. They have a lot of grit in their early songs coz theyre still dreamers and explorers of their sound. You'll enjoy their youthful grit from MIXTAPE, I AM trilogy, and CLÉ. There are still some raw experimental sounds in the latter albums like Silent Cry, Ssick, Wolfgang, The Tortoise and The Hare among others.

If you like the gritty sound of District 9 I think you would also like their songs "Beware" (aka Grrr) and "YAYAYA" which were both pre-debut releases. They both have a similar vibe. And if you're curious what they sound like on the complete opposite side of the spectrum you can check out "Secret Secret" which is written by Han and has very beautiful vocals from all members.

These are my own personal takes on their discography: The I Am series of three albums that they put out their first year, 2018, were about exploring themselves, who they were and where they fit into the world. This debut song, District 9, was from I Am Not. Some of the lyrics in this album had them pushing against expectations and what other people want from them, saying I am not who you want me to be. Their second album was I Am Who. Basically in this one they move on to the question of, so who am I then? Their third album, I Am You acknowledges that while they are still looking for who they're going to be, that it's okay to take time for the journey to self-discovery and that there actually are people willing to stand by your side as you figure things out. It also encourages the listener, telling them that while things may seem confusing or difficult right now, that things will get better and clearer. Their second series of three albums were all put out their second year, 2019. This was the Clé series, the first of which was Clé: Miroh. In this, they have a lot of optimism, moving past the deep questioning and recognising that they are fighting hard to be who they want to be and are on their way to success. Clé: Yellow Wood talks about how, no matter how hard you try to take your own path, there will always be influences trying to push their way in. It also emphasises the importance of having someone supportive by your side, but also remembering to support them as well. Clé: Levanter was the first album they put out after the ninth member, Kim Woojin, left the group. There was a lot of anxiety about whether people would still stand by them. In this one, they kind of let go of everything, setting aside their old self, and just running headlong towards their future. After these two sets of three, in 2020, is when Stray Kids really broke free, with their first full album, Go Live. They found their sound in discovering that they don't have a singular sound and that they can do whatever they like, without boundaries. They have always created their own music, from pre-debut onwards, so they began to focus on simply making music they like, without worrying about genre. Each of their albums from this point have a very distinctive feel and sound from the ones before or after, exploring different parts of their songwriting with each album. They no longer have cohesive themes running through sets of albums and just go where their whims take them. (Although there is a lot of continuous lore running through their entire career that they've built on through album trailers, music videos and even live performances. It's so complex at this point that I'm not sure ANYONE has a full grasp of it, including them!) Their most recent album, 5-Star, is one big acknowledgement of the success they've had through being themselves, doing their own thing and not getting caught up in the usual expectations for a kpop boy group. They get a bit cocky in it, but that cockiness is well-earned. Although, in a recent interview they were asked when they realised they'd made it. They replied not yet - we still have so much we want to show the world.

@@Lyric113 I'm glad you found it useful! When I was a baby Stay, I was always so happy for any tidbit established Stays were willing to share so I'm glad I can do the same. I wish I was there with them from the very beginning, but because there is such depth of content you really can get a feel for their full journey. In the beginning for me, I listened to each album several times over until I was very familiar with each song and then moved on to the next album. It gave me a strong sense of where all of their music fits into the time line, making it easier to see their growth. It also meant that I got to know all of their music and not just title tracks and b-sides with music or performance videos. The SKZCode videos and SKZTalker series on their channel are a great way to see their personalities and, again, for me it was helpful to start from the beginning. SKZCode let's you really see their fun personalities in various situations and SKZTalker episodes are a really good glimpse of the behind the scenes at music shows and other performances. Enjoy the ride, baby Stay!

The line about “why do you talk like you know me when I don’t even know myself” really got me as well! If you rewatch the middle rap part (the part you said was too fast for you to read ) the lyrics really sums up Stray Kids core idea, that they are different and they are going to prove themselves. Wanna a weird one - The Tortoise and the Hare. No MV just color coded lyrics but it will explain why they say ‘I know, you know, Lee Know’ This is their Debut song. Felix was admitted as a trainee for his dancing, he didn’t even have to sing, then he goes thru the survival series where he’s criticized for not knowing Korean. So his confidence wasn’t as good as it is today. Bang Chan and the others kept encouraging him to the point where he has given Stays the penultimate crying song in The Deep End which proves he’s more than the deep voice. If you listen to it make sure you have ice cream and blankee ready to go.

When they debuted, it was with the knowledge that several members -- including Felix -- were at a lesser stage of readiness than some of the others and would need some time to continue developing their vocal and/or language skills (Felix, for instance, had to learn to speak Korean before he could be performing significant lines in that language). Felix primarily had small bits and "killing parts" in most of the songs up until the NOEASY album in 2021 because he was literally learning to speak Korean fluently _and_ was working on growing the vocal skills he'd never had to focus much on as a dancer and native-English-speaking rapper. Felix wasn't the only member to have fewer lines in the early days. He's just the one most easily noticed for the dearth. These days (since NOEASY), things are very different. Everyone has sufficiently developed the skills necessary to carry an equal part of the load. But in the early days, it would have been grossly unfair and possibly even harmful to burden the less-developed members with that level of line distribution. So instead, to be sure those members were still getting to fully contribute, the group did things like give Felix killing parts that 1] were impactful while remaining within his skill level, 2] added something to the group that only he could provide, underlining to their detractors that there are no filler members, and 3] would be guaranteed to draw attention in a heartbeat's length of time on outlets like social media platforms (because they're savvy about the reality of business). Nowadays, all eight are multi-skilled enough that no one needs to rely on killing parts or special feature moments to be sure everyone is fairly represented.

welcome to the fandom! :) it also took me some songs and some weeks of diving into a group before I decided to call myself a fan, so I totally understand you. SKZ is actually the first group in my life I call myself a fan of (I am 31 years old). and "district 9" is my most favourite debut in kpop. Please don't apologize for making long videos. we appreciate your thoughts and are happy to see your deep emotions. and many people including myself like long videos :) if you get a chance to visit a concert, I recommend it a lot, since SKZ have a live band playing for them at the concerts! It's so amazing! they headlined the music festival Lollapalooza in Paris last Friday and it was my first time seeing them and I was so blown away! I fell in love with their hard hitting bangers, but after getting a bit deeper I realized how deep their lyrics is, how personal and relatable, that there was no way back fro me :) I find it interesting how they can wrap up deep and touching lyrics into interesting sounds and sometimes even funny catchy beats. For those I recommend "voices" (there is MV), "silent cry" (no MV), "slump" (there are english, korean and japanese versions. no proper MV. I love english version the most for lyrics, but I recommend the live performance at "1 take" channel). I would also recommend "grow up" for lyrics. it is relatively simple but at the same time I can't think of another such supportive song... And honestly even at the age of 31 I still can relate :) for interesting sound I recommend "side effects" (has MV) and "tortoise and the hare" (no MV).

I LOVE!!!!! That this is their second released song! And that this is one of my favorite songs of theirs too... About Felix, His Korean wasn't as good in the beginning, He was very new, so he had fewer lines in the first couple of songs (I think that's why) You've definitely earned a new subscriber right now! They have 3 albums that are linked to each other in their beginning, that tell their story of growth --- "I am NOT", "I am WHO" and "I am YOU". More powerful songs- Side Effects, Freeze, My Pace, Voices, Miroh, Mirror, Victory song, Double Knot, Boxer, Any, Easy, All In, FAM (Song they wrote on each other, it's funny and really good), Cheese, Thunderouse, Domino, Ssick, Red lights, Wolfgang... THERE ARE JUST SO MANY!!! This really small list is just from their beginning mostly actually, that are more "Loud" than others, but they have a lot! more of those later on, there are just too much to write write now... LOL And there are more "softer" songs, sound wise...but they are so meaningful and beautiful! OF COURSE, you're a stray kids fan now! WELCOME TO THE STAY FAMILY!!! How can anyone not be, It really only takes one from them to love them. Especially knowing that they write, produce, compose and arrange their own music 99% of the time. Thank you for your honest reaction. I love that you are a new baby stay. I will disagree though about Felix lines and his impact. I do believe they do use his iconic deep vocal tones to get your attention but I don't feel that is why i like the song because of his iconic lines. Felix didn't got less lines from the beginning till probably around the end of 2021. Mostly because he didn't know the Korean language as much, but I also feel he wasn't has confident in his vocal abilities during the start of Stray Kids. In all the videos before Oct 2019 there is 9 members 3 vocalist. the other 6 members either rapped or did vocals. Felix was considered a rapper and dancer in the early days. Lee Know did both rap and vocals along with Bang Chan. In 2020- 2021 we got more vocals from Hyunjin and in 2022 - 2023 we have been getting more vocals for Felix even got a solo song called Deep End. He has one of the best vocal ranges from deep to high pitch. Changbin the one you said raps fast was listed as #1 fastest rapper in k-pop in 2020 & 2021. Han, and Hyunjin also hit in the top 10 of that list. Some of their more earlier iconic songs I think you will love Miroh m/v (first win) Victory Song (they only have a performance video but don't let that full you its still like watch a regular m/v), Mirror performance mv, Grrr performance m/v, Side Effects m/v, Double Knot m/v is has a English vers. and a Korean ver., I like the English one but that is me. Easy m/v, newer Red Lights m/v, Thunderous m/v, Super Board m/v (rock), and a Christmas song that is out of the traditional Christmas song called Christmas Evil.

I agree that each member is used in the best way for each song. Depending on the type of mood/vibe needing to be created, there is at least two people that can sing or rap the lyrics. I love that Chan and others help each other shine in their moment, in which ever song or genre, as a unit/fam.

Thank you so much for sharing your reaction with us! If you mind, I'd like to also to give more recommendations! Some of my favorite songs of theirs lyrically are 3rd Eye, Voices, Another Day, Side Effects, Secret Secret, and Mirror! If you are interested in solo works, I also recommend Streetlights by Changbin feat. Bang Chan, Alien and Run by Han, and Piece of a Puzzle by Changbin and Seungmin. Sonically, the songs, barring Side Effects and Mirror, may not be as edgy as their other works, but the lyrics are simply beautiful! As an aside, I also want to recommend some 3racha music! Before Stray Kids debuted, the members Han, Changbin, and Bang Chan wrote and released music under the moniker of 3racha and released 3 EPs on KZbin and Soundcloud. My personal favorite during the "3racha Era" is Eunseoki. I will say that Euseoki is a dark song that deals with the topic of bullying, so keep that in mind if you decide to listen to it. Also, I hope things start looking up for you in the future.

Welcome to Stay fandom. I recommend Side Effects and Voices. And for lyrics I recommend Secret Secret (written by Han) and Silent Cry (the group “answer” to Secret Secret-there is no MV for this one). These last two are not your type of songs, maybe, but the lyrics are profound. I hope you react to these (maybe in the same video).

They have a HUGE discography. There are SO MANY songs that I could recommend. But I don't know where to start. Half of their stuff is "loud", edgy, hype......1/4 is pop-ish, 1/4 is soft and sweet. They run the gamut. The fact they write and produce 99% of their own music is amazing to me. I would either start from the beginning and go work ur way to present or go backwards. I find new Stays do one way or the other. Try Victory Song.

Thanks for your reaction and welcome to Stayville! I love Skz because they're different. They're my ult group. I do tend to gravitate to a lot of their edgier-sounding songs also. A favorite of mine that isn't super edgy, and is a slower tempo song, is Chronosaurus. I love the haunting synth music in it. Oh, and I do love DreamCatcher. I saw them back in March - they're amazing!

I love seeing metal fans getting into SKZ, idk why but it seems like we are a lot like that 😅 It's the darker, edgier and more "grungy" side of kpop I think... I really got into them with Side Effects, it really spoke to me right away 🖤 I subbed, happy to see someone discover and appreciate them 🖤

Hellevator would be my next recommendation, they made and release this song during their survival show (pre-debut) ❤ good luck with ur straykids journey! Edit: i was typing it before u mentioned hellevator. Im glad u already listened to it. Hehe😂 so i think my next recommendation would be the concert version of district 9 🎉

Stray Kids is such a colourful group with a HUGE discography and that's what I love about them! In their song "God's Menu" they themselves say that their music has the ability to satisfy the five senses and it's true, any kind of rhythm you're looking for, SKZ probably has it. Also as they are a group with 100% self-produced music, every beat, rhythm and lyric is created and developed by them to hit it just right, in some interviews 3RACHA (sub-unit and production team that is composed by 3 members of SKZ) already said that the lyrics are carefully thought and built between them, one of them even revealed that usually rent philosophy books to study and better understand feelings to express himself in the best possible way in his songs. They are extremely talented and never disappoint, District 9 and Hellevator were their first songs published under Stray Kids name and are 100% their production, but even before their debut 3RACHA already had several authorial sounds published on SoundCloud! I suggest you check them out if you like their style so much!! Thank you for giving the boys a chance, they are growing every day and it's amazing to see them getting more and more recognition!! Feel free to star calling yourself Stay when you're ready, Stayville is a wild ride, but it never disappoints!!

Since you pointed out the "Started with nine" line, I might as well mention this. They didn't lose their former member until October 2019, so for the first year and a half, there were nine of them. "Nine or none" and other sentiments related to being nine were central to them, were a rallying cry and end goal during the entire struggle to stay together and debut together. So references to being nine worked their way into several songs, including this debut (District 9 itself -- the safe zone they created for themselves and fellow strays -- is named District NINE because of the nine members). The former member very suddenly left in the midst of the gear-up for an album release and tour (leading to them having to delay the comeback, rerecord things, edit him out of an MV, etc). It was enormously stressful and scary for them, they were attacked right and left, and a lot of fake fans very loudly abandoned them and put the future of their career in doubt. The departure was clearly unexpected, it harmed SKZ at the time, and SKZ have since done everything possible to make sure it's understood that they are _eight_ and that mentions of otherwise are not welcome. Part of the dedicated embracement of being ot8 involves their music. Every track on every album released until mid-October 2019 was nine-member era, as was the pre-released Double Knot track and MV for the upcoming Cle: Levanter album. So in 2020 and 2021, they released albums (first SKZ2020 and then SKZ2021) of the songs from the 2018-2019 nine-member era. All songs were rerecorded to be ot8, and in some cases they were partially rewritten to remove parts written by the former member or to change references to being nine. For instance, the District 9 "Started with nine. At the end it’s going to be all of ours" lyric is now "Starting with STAY, and in the end it’ll be everyone’s refuge." SKZ replaced the nine-member streaming versions (even when clicking on a song on a nine-member album, the track that plays is now ot8) and performance versions with the updated ot8 versions, removing WJ entirely from any lingering involvement. The only originally nine-member songs that weren't remade and rereleased on SKZ2020/21 and thus don't have ot8 versions are Glow, School Life, and 4419 from the predebut album Mixtape (all survival-show songs that get minimal play/streams and don't get performed on stages), Hero's Soup from the album I am YOU (it's still unclear as to why this one full-length/non-intro, post-debut song was an exception to the reboot), and the short intro tracks (like "I am NOT!" and "Road Not Taken") from the albums during the nine-member era. All of which is just my standard infodump way of explaining that all references to them being nine -- including this District 9 lyric -- were removed and replaced during their purging of the nine-member-era discography. They couldn't really do anything about the district itself (or the song) referencing nine, but that's pretty much the only remaining reference.

Since District 9 became your special skz song, I want to talk about my 3 special skz songs, and that could serve as recommendation since you listened to none of them : - Top was the first stray kids song I ever heard and even the first kpop I listened that I knew was kpop (because Gangnam style was before you know typical things). It really just have a special place in my heart as the first song. - #Love Stay. Before I start I don't think you will like this song but it's my District 9. I cried when I listened to this song for the first time, when hearing Felix sing but really sing not with his deep voice. And that's when I said "if I cry for them I might be a stay". So this song i really special to me. And it was also the first time I was there when skz released something, even if I listened two days late. - Side effects. I always say that my fav song of skz is Voices because I never count Side effects since it's so special. The theme of this song is so important to me, but all the behind stories (if you react I'll tell you what are those) made this song so special. This being the first kpop song in the genre psychedelic trance. The choreo being my favorite with my favorite dance break... All of this make this song so special to me and basically my favorite stray kids song !

Felix actually doesn't have a whole lot of lines, they just tend to arrange things so that his moments stand out. If you look up line distribution, he's definitely not at the top in numbers. Several of their earliest tracks show a fair amount of grunge and metal influence. Try Beware (Song of Grrr), Yayaya, Victory Song, Side Effects, Maze of Mirrors, Double Knot, all from their first two years. (District 9 is their official debut song, Hellevator was pre-debut to promote their origin/survival show, Grr and Yayaya were from the predebut show). These all have interesting concepts and lyrics, some with pretty deep meaning. Some of the more recent ones with a harder edge would be Easy, All In, Freeze, Item, possibly Superboard, The Sound. You might also try The Tortoise and The Hare, which is a trip. The subunit 3Racha (their production team who also perform as a rap trio) tend to hit pretty hard, try Matroyshyka, Zone, Heyday and 3Racha. The 3Racha unit has the two fast rappers plus Bang Chan, the three of them are among the most prolific writers/producers in kpop right now.. They do collaborate with other producers on almost all their work, but theirs is the main creative influence--they are using the input from the other producers to broaden their variety. Stray Kids members do contribute ideas to the choreography, but they are not usually credited as choreographers. If you want deep songs, a lot of their more melodic work gets pretty intense, especially some of the solo and unit songs. Changbin's Streetlight (Changbin is one of the main rappers and 3Racha member) is pretty intense. Han one of the other main rappers/3Racha members, has the solos I Got It which is harder, also Volcano, and many others--he's pretty prolific. Felix recently put out the solo Deep End which is not at all hard edged but incredibly intense, very stripped back and emotionally raw. For fll group songs with deep lyrics with less hard edged feel try Secret Secret and Sorry I Love You, Levanter.

Welcome to Stray Kids! I’ve enjoyed all three of your reactions so far and thank you so much for the their list in this one! Totally fair that you thought Case 143 was a 3, given what you had talked about I wasn’t expecting it to be one of your favorites! Cheese is also one I can understand you not liking! I’m not sure if you’ve heard what it’s about (and if you have feel free to skip this bit), but it is essentially a ‘response to the haters’ song and it has a lot of references to their other songs, so in some way for me it’s less about the music and more about how silly they made it. Some of my personal recommendations (which you may or may not like) are Red Lights (admittedly this is probably not gonna be a favorite for you but I think it’s really funny how many people think it’s a love song upon first listen when in actuality it’s about their passion for creating, which is why I’d be interested in your opinion of it, especially after what you’ve said in your other Stray Kids reaction videos), Domino, and The Hare and the Tortoise (I might have the order backwards on this title name). The last one is really experimental so I’d love to hear what you think and Domino is really fun tho again I’m not sure if it’s to your taste! Muddy Water is also a song you might be interested in if you want to hear more of the rap line, and Back Door is the b-side to Gods Menu (but I admittedly like it better). Another one I would recommend is Side Effects; I can’t guarantee that you’ll like it as it is a very ‘noisy’ song so it can be hit or miss but I like the message of it, plus it’s one of their earlier songs which you seem to have a track record of finding interesting! Of course you don’t have to do all of these but I’d love your opinion on any you do try!

Thanks so much for following along this madness! I'm definitely going to add those songs to my list. I think the only one that I've heard that you've metioned is "Back Door". I like it, but am confused on the lyrics. I know that I'm missing something, otherwise it's great. I have been listening to more and more of their stuff and it seems like I haven't come across anything that I flat out didn't like and am surprised how fearless they are to go all over the place with their sound and still do a good job at every turn. I'll check out some of those recommendations and appreciate you're kind words and the info about "Case 143"

I’m not into metal but I do love Lorna Shore. I was always into rock but after Linkin Park I went musically dormant for many years. My daughter introduced me to Kpop but nothing was hitting me, unlike you I don’t like girl groups, it was too poppy for me. Then I heard BIGBANG from the 2nd generation and they woke me up to music again. I will always be a VIP but after a while I wanted something new. I went through third generation and nothing worked except for a few songs from August D of BTS. All this to say that BIGBANG finally led me to Stray Kids and I can proudly say I am a Stay. Like BB there is not one song that I don’t like, they all hit me in the right spot. Please react to: Side Effects The Sound (this one has more of a rock vibe but I love it) Domino mv and the dance practice. I know you’re not into dance but it’s one of my favorite dance choreography. Thanks

I had given up as well. I explain in earlier videos and try to mention often that I gave up in the 2010's and K-Pop is what brought me back to music. I watch a lot of different things on my channel, but kpop woke me up to hunting for music again and actually helped me respect so many aspects of the creative process in general. It woke me up to see magic in the world again honestly.
