@@Stray03 you're really one of the only channels that covers how these things actually work in depth, sure historical military equipment channels exist but they either don't tear down the equipment or just explain on paper how it worked. it's far more interesting to see someone actually physically have the equipment and then also be brave enough to take it apart and explain the mechanics and engineering. I guess you do have a somewhat niche corner of KZbin but important historically and entertaining none the less, good luck with your projects man

@notthecia4486 thanks. Yeah I find al lot of the channels want to focus on the usage of the system, and the people using them rather than how they work. Getting "technical" bores people which, when channels create content for money, it doesn't get enough interest to fill the bank.

@@Stray03 oh pretty good man I can't complain. Just staying busy with life. I've actually been thinking about starting to collect old antiques and devices as a hobby too. I've been influenced by your channel haha.

Yup I know how you feel. I don't make videos often because work and vehicles keep me busy, and the energy just isn't there. Hopefully with a schedule change that might change. Lol expect to spend a bunch of money and be considered crazy by your friends. Doesn't matter though, worth it.

@@Stray03 lol yeah I am usually very selective when I tell people my hobbies. Even saying you own a gun nowadays is enough to get you in trouble in some places. Speaking of which I'd say my first adventure into older devices/firearms would be a pristine mosin nagant that was gifted to me aswell as one of your videos that was posted some time ago. I appreciate you recording this stuff by the way man I just find it all incredibly interesting
@Stray03

@flamegator3251 was my main goal when starting the channel. Found that the community was buying up stuff and leaving it on a shelf or in a safe to gather dust instead of sharing it with people who don't usually get a chance to see the things except in museums behind glass. Hope I keep being able to keep everyone interested in this stuff.

As someone interested in preety much everything mechanical thank you for this video! Firearms are my favorite ,especially pre ww2 and ww2.Back then everything needed to be made manually ,not a single cnc machine in sight.Yet its amazing how they made complicated things with nothing but pen and paper and brilliant minds .

@chiphailstone589 yeah I bought 2 of his books also. Thanks for the kind words. There are a bunch of people with cool ordnance out there that sadly don't share it with people. Lots of things that should be taught about sit hidden away.

Yeah it is pretty sad when educational things get removed but you can see videos of someone harassing people on the street and then calling it a "prank" as though it was OK after that.

The sight being part of the safety mechanism is clever. However having to press the fire button as part of the disarm process is not. Is there anything interesting in the head? Assuming it's a shaped charge is there any kind of detonator on the tip or how does it go off when striking a target?
@Stray03
@Stray03 4 ай бұрын
Yeah I'm guessing it could cause accidental firings if they are not paying attention. I have a video on the fuze for it which explains how that works it is behind the explosive and shaped charge.

Did the recoilless mechanism have any sort of counter-weight shot out the back?
@Stray03
@Stray03 4 ай бұрын
No purely gas formed by the burning powder. Had they used counterweight they could have used less powder, like a few of the systems out there including the improvised weapon the "PRIG".
