Thanks for the video. Full of good info. In-fini-tawn I am not saying you should script your videos, but writing down what you want to say beforehand and NOT reading it as you go a long would be a good idea. You do a lot of onscreen thinking which results in a lot of pauses and afterthoughts.

I wish it was that easy for me. I needed a lot more b roll to edit this better. I start out with some energy, but I can't seem to keep it up. This is my first video with more dislikes than likes.

Thanks for your review. I have seen that on infinitton v1.1. you can add a condition to a folder. So you can see the set of shortcuts within a folder if an application is in foreground (without having to explicitely click on the folder). This is a bit like the profiles in Stream Deck. That is maybe the reason why you cannot have nested folder for the moment.

You're Welcome. It has been a few months since I returned the Infinitton, I don't remember what version was current at the time. It still seems like both should be possible, but maybe I am not fully understanding what you are saying. I still prefer the Steam Deck hardware too though.
@CarlyonProduction5 жыл бұрын
gregfromch so you can not have buttons within buttons? On stream deck I was told you could press one button and go through to another whole set of buttons, is that the case? That’s the main thing for me. Because then you have 15x15 per profile.
@gregfromch5 жыл бұрын
@@CarlyonProduction yes you can have a whole new set of buttons. Only the button on the bottom right is kept as a "back" button. It is the folder option. What I was explaining in my comment is that you can create a folder and add a condition to it. For example, add a "winword.exe" condition to a folder and within this folder have a set of Word shortcuts. Then you don't need to open the folder, it will open automatically if Word has the focus. Is this clear like this ?
@CarlyonProduction5 жыл бұрын
gregfromch yes that is clear. Thanks. I just thought he said you could not have buttons inside buttons with the infinitton
@gregfromch5 жыл бұрын
@@CarlyonProduction you can but only one level of depth. You cannot have nested folders.

Thanks for your review. I am more interested in the functionality of the two. You talked about the folders on the Stream Deck. You also touched a little biut about hos the text translation works (like it is typed on the Stream Deck and Instant on the Infinitton. I am more interested in these things. The button images you covered in a great way. My first glance tells me for ma usability and functionality the Stream Deck is superior. Yes?

You're welcome, I couldn't find a single comparison video, so I decided to make one. as of now, I feel the Stream Deck is better for multiple reasons. The Infinitton could get better at some point with software upgrades, but I didn't find the hardware as easy to use because it only lays flat. Thanks for watching, and please subscribe if you haven't.

Good infomation - it would be helpful if you were more clear about which product you are talking about - confusing as you move back and forth between products.

sorry, I hope you liked it though. Maybe I'll try to re edit this as it is finally getting views.

thanks for the video. i would suggest maybe doing some more editing so its easier to follow you though. like if you mess up, repeat what you said again until it sounds coherent and smooth. its a really long video to do with no cuts, and its just unnecessary. youre making it a lot harder than it needs to be, at least until youre more comfortable in front of the camera and speaking off the cuff

Dude, I was totally interested in a comparison of these things. However your video is very difficult to follow. Despite liking heavy music, the backing music was distracting, especially when your narrative became confused (which happened a lot). Your production level looks good, though it is puzzling why you have matted/keyed out the background but then done nothing with this. As a media guy, my suggestion to you would be to write a tighter script and maybe edit out some stuff to keep your videos more engaging (I was VERY interested, but struggled to stay interested). Be concise and to the point. If you are not and you meander about, I forget stuff about one item when you come to the other. You've chosen to review the units one at a time. If you were concise, this might work. If you're going to talk lots about each item, consider reviewing them together - feature by feature (what are the keys like? How bright? etc) Please don't take any of this as a knock. I know how hard speaking to camera can be.

Sorry for the delay, it would be easier to ignore this, but I probably shouldn’t, I tried to break this up instead of replying the the whole thing. “Dude, I was totally interested in a comparison of these things.” I was surprised to not be able to find a similar video when I decided to make this. “However your video is very difficult to follow.”Sorry, I didn’t think so at the time. I tried adding some graphics to make it more engaging, sounds like it wasn’t enough. “Despite liking heavy music, the backing music was distracting, especially when your narrative became confused (which happened a lot).”I get tired of the same electronic music used for most videos on KZbin. The problem is likely that when I was struggling to talk, the music was more interesting. “Your production level looks good,”Thanks, this is definitely a place where I see I can still improve though, I don’t like the dark area on my face. “though it is puzzling why you have matted/keyed out the background but then done nothing with this.”This was 100% in camera, lighting from the sides (which is why the dark stripe), with a black background similar to older Vsauce videos. I do want to make a set for reviews, but I don’t know what I should choose. “As a media guy, my suggestion to you would be to write a tighter script and maybe edit out some stuff to keep your videos more engaging (I was VERY interested, but struggled to stay interested).”I needed more b-roll so I could have edited out more of my pauses when my brain was failing me. I know preproduction is extremely important, but I’m extremely bad at it. “Be concise and to the point. If you are not and you meander about, I forget stuff about one item when you come to the other. You've chosen to review the units one at a time. If you were concise, this might work. If you're going to talk lots about each item, consider reviewing them together - feature by feature (what are the keys like? How bright? etc)”I feel like I did compare both a lot, I first talked about what is similar, then when I talked about only the Stream Deck, it was to mention what the Infinitton doesn’t have. I was thinking I was still comparing the 2. “Please don't take any of this as a knock. I know how hard speaking to camera can be.”Thank you for the honest feedback, sorry for the long reply. Even though the criticism is constructive, it hits a lot of my issues I struggle with. Sadly these were the best takes, there are a lot of outtakes, which become frustrating. Then I lose track of what I said in which take. Though the feedback is timely as I want to create more reviews, but I am struggling with the best format moving forward. Unfortunately, it would be tough to reshoot and edit a new version as I sent back the Infinitton. as for talking on camera, I sometimes struggle talking off camera too. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 15.0px; font: 13.0px Arial; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 15.0px; font: 13.0px Arial; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000; min-height: 15.0px} span.s1 {font-kerning: none} p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 15.0px; font: 13.0px Arial; color: #323333; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} span.s1 {font-kerning: none}

@@Daveseverythingchannel Mate, there's lot that is good about the video. The reason I give honest feedback is because that is the only way people improve (I can't stand people who tell me what I do is 'Really good', without picking out faults. Don't worry if the points I mention hit you where you struggle - I struggle to even make videos due to procrastination, so you're already a whole leap ahead of me. Just keep going. The one thing that will improve your (and everyones) videos is practice. I was never ever involved in a production where I didn't make mistakes and didn't learn things. I wouldn't reshoot the video. It is what it is. Carry on and do others. You got lots of potential. One technique I found useful to keep me on topic, is to write a script and have a few practices. Then when you shoot, off camera, don't have the script up but instead have the sections in bullet points. Don't try and stay exactly to script, just use this to help you know where you are. I find that that helps me to include all that I want to include and means I don't have the nerves and pressure of keeping to exact lines. As I said, I know it's hard. Speaking to camera is so much harder than people think. I can talk for England, but put a camera in front of me and sometimes I can struggle to say 'The'. It's cool man. Just keep going and enjoy yourself.

Don't misunderstand, I'm upset with me, not your comment. I'm grateful that you want to provide helpful feedback! I have heard CEOs of large companies who can talk in front of thousands without an issue, freeze up in front of a camera. But I have this issue without a camera, sometimes if I'm by myself. I get to the point after an hour or more of starting over, and losing track of what I said in which take that I decide whatever I have is as good as it will get. The whole process makes me procrastinate working on the next video and very frustrated. Now that I have gone back to watch it, it is cringy. Sorry. Thanks for saying I have a lot of potential, I have heard that a lot in my life. I actually had an outline for this video, which I put as bullet points on a whiteboard next to the camera. I want to start making a lot more review videos, but I need to work on my format. More than that, I want to figure out a better background.

What did you want the Infinitton to do that made elgato superior?

I misread your comment the first time. I was hoping the Infinitton might have a higher quality screen and maybe better Mac software. But mostly, I wanted to just test them and see which is really best for my workflow.

Can both be used at the same time or do they conflict if you use both?

I think so. I don't remember if I tried, but I had the software installed and running at the same time without any issues.

You can use multiple streamdecks at the same time so I don't see why there would be any problems.
