@BamaShanks

Definitely. That isn’t a weird move or anything. No it doesn’t accomplish anything, but for a sub 1000 elo player it is a very natural move. I wouldn’t assume he is sniping based on that move.

Yeah, I really don't get his point. I know rook c1 can just end the game but it isn't that obvious why and the queen move that happened in the game doesn't even blunder the winning position. It was a very reasonable move for a 600 rated player and to conclude he must be streamsniping is just stupid.

I just think it's fascinating that we live in a time where this is a thing. Not only are we able to play a game of chess with anyone in the world, but the world itself can be watching, and you can communicate your thoughts to the world, so even your opponent can essentially hear your thoughts, just to be tricked by you assuming he hears your thoughts, and everyone just watches this unfold for entertainment. danya's oponenet could sacrifice the queen for two rooks and knight. after the night moves rook takes rook, knight takes queen, rook takes rook check, king moves, then pawn takes knight.

It’s not sure that the second video is stream sniper based on that move alone. It’s 600rated chess player and there’s a check on the board, they’ll likely take it. He knew that the pawn take is bad, he would make plays somewhere else on the board and there’s a check. I played low level players too so I know their “natural” moves

ngl, when i was in grade school & competing chess, my coach told me that if i intentionally sac a piece, especially a queen, i should act like i made a blunder so my opponent won't even think twice abt taking. acting def is a tactic & i'd recommend doing this in low elo tourneys.

To be fair to the guy in Hikaru's video, Qc4 may be a garbage move, but garbage moves are what 600s play. Then you must also consider it is a check, and one-move checks are also things 600s like to do.

I know that probably no one is going to answer, but in the first game, after Ne5, doesn't Qc7 defuse the tactic and Black only loses one pawn?
@thechesshistorian
@thechesshistorian Жыл бұрын
After Qc7, White's Rooks are in no danger at all, meaning that the knight can use this tempo to hop to 1 of 3 different squares: Ng6 and Ng4 are both very juicy! But even returning the knight back to d3 works, exposing black's near-naked king while being 2 pawns up. The other option that white has (though this is harder to spot) is that White doesn't have to move the knight, but instead can play Rxd6 right away, and force black to simplify into a simpler + winning position :) Hope that helps!

Danya's position is actually still quite tricky to play. If white goes to take black's queen, Danya will ended up trading all of his pieces with a single queen and that's actually losing for white. But since it's Danya we're talking about, I'm pretty sure he'll settle for up 2 pawns instead of trading all of his pieces for a queen.

I think if he takes the rook, you take back. before taking the queen later
@Vandalgia
@Vandalgia Жыл бұрын
@@joshhfletchh4841 the queen will just move if he take the rook. So it's more about the positional advantage rather than a material advantage. Well, up 2 pawn is a huge advantage in that position, especially for a GM. It would be a cakewalk foe him to convert that position into a winning end game.
@tommydashed4205
@tommydashed4205 Жыл бұрын
@@Vandalgia It's not tricky to play. There are very few variations, and no complex in between moves. It isn't clearly a stream snipe though because it's an understandable blunder. Coming into a position fresh it's easy to see but coming into the position with the assumption that a piece can't move because it couldn't move before is a common miscalculation error.
@Vandalgia

So when Danya plays Nxe2. Let's say Black captures the rook. Instead of taking the queen with our knight, allowing Black to take another rook and our knight, we can play Rxd2 first. Black still have all the problems. Both the queen and the rook is under fire. Even if Black can play Qc8 defending the rook, we can trade, move the knight out of the attack and be up two pawns.
