Phil dived down and got momentum to go up, fuit just glided like everyone else would have done.

Phil used the speed to do a sort of dolphin dive but in the air and fruit went too low I believe.

It's because Fruit kept turning, killing his horizontal speed instead of using it to gain height.

@@TahaShakir2 In the second clip (Punz's POV), you can see that Fruit circled the area where the terrain used to be for about 10 seconds after it went away, and THEN he started going straight, whereas Phil stopped turning as soon as the ground disappeared.
