Because a good peni player either puts the mines in blind spots that players don't scan or they are placed in unavoidable spots. Like losing access to some spots in the game is brutal. People are focused on scanning for movement. Not for stationary things. This btw is why some times it's better to have the mines outside of the webs if they are tucked away on something like an outer wall. You can also see who gets tunnel vision in a match and take advantage of that as well. By the time they see em it's too late and they are dead.

It’s so funny too. General rule of thumb, don’t walk into her webs in no matter how safe you think those webs are. That will stop 50% of your teams deaths. The other half is when she stacks 4 mines without webs in great locations. Can’t stop those deaths. Those things are damn near invisible and explode damn near instantly.

Well some characters are arguably just worse regardless of how well they can be played. Black Widow can be played like a demon if they have amazing aim, positioning, and consistency. Doesn’t change the fact she’s still arguably bottom 2 worst DPS in the game. Peni can obviously be played at a peak level, same any other character, but when you take the average of a characters playerbase compared to another, stronger characters just tend to have more consistent players.

I've had success with Peni in GM and honestly it's all a mind game. You make your opponent think you're rock solid and they're scared to approach you. Really all it takes is one or two defensive kills with Mines and suddenly the whole team is scared. Makes them more prone to mistakes. Plus she can cancel a few ults.

I really love this videos, people do this thing called "one trick" in heros im currently Gm not by one trick a hero but manage the counter one tricks, most of so called top players forget how to counter since they are so good in one Hero they forgot the basic, counter picks.... how to squish a penny? hulk, ironman, punisher, rocket, the game even tells what hero does with other hero, even scarlet witch with magneto smashes penny.... its fun i give a tumbs up for this video.

Did a little bit of testing on someone's observation that the webs don't quite need to touch to transfer mines. If you stand on the edge of the web the gap can be about as wide as Peni's feet looking straight down. If you stand on the web and aim your cursor level with the top of her shoulder things that's about where you need to aim. In the training room you can connect a nest behind the right most friendly bot to all three enemy bots. Also, I don't understand why people don't try to work out at least 2 characters from each class. It pretty much guarantees you don't get the situation Andrew guy was in "My main was banned and my other is being hard countered so I just have nothing" issue.

Actually not how they work typically which is funny. It's basically cost benefit analysis. Do you focus in learning the heroes you see sparingly? Or do you min/max for the heroes you see the majority of the time? They only focus on learning what they see the most since that is more bang for the buck in securing higher win rates. Also it's that yes their reactions are not cohesive in looking for mines. It's part of why she works. They have to focus 2x harder with peni around if the peni player is good

Been playing a lot of Peni lately since watching your videos, one problem I always seem to have is whenever I'm on offence someone on my team immediately gets upset: "Peni on offence GG" "Peni throwing" "Peni switch". I'll then proceed to get the most elims, most final hits, most damage and MVP but they'll still be toxic and say I got carried or whatever. People genuinely lose their minds if I'm not playing on the direct frontline too lol, I'll be in the enemy backline just killed both healers and still see "Peni WTF are you doing get back!" or "Can't heal you there Peni ***" Hopefully as I continue to move up the ranks that stops but so many people think Peni is solely defensive and it's insane.

Its less forgetting that there are mines and more having their reactions trained in a way that can't count for the mines. It messes with their rhythm. They are trained to play one way, and after dying to it a few times, they have to be on 2x to 3x higher alert than normal so it's very straining.

They all treated her as some kind of "punching bag tank" like Hulk who is there to be a meaty distraction, soak up dmg, etc. Nobody respects her ability to control zones. And borrowing Deadpool's words "I bet Strinova players would treat her so much better than those **** down the street".

@PuchimonExtreme so to be fair to them, initially most Peni players played he like a free punching bag. Same way people played wolverine wrong so he was initially thought to be terrible til people like team captain showed the proper way to use his kit. Its the way games go. Kits that are fairly obvious get ranked higher first initially than ones that take some working to figure out how to play optimally.

This video brings me so much joy. It was so weird to see Peni was D tier in almost every tier list, only to be revealed as the best tank in the bottom 4 ranks. And at worst just above average at grandmaster. At no rank, on any platform, in either mode, was she ever in the bottom 4 tanks out of 8. I dont get why these guys think shes so bad.

peni is by far one of my favorite marvel rivals characters i enjoy vsing them and playing with them and even in other games i enjoy trapper class characters, thinking ahead to hey someone might walk through here lets set a trap and get on with the fight kinda thing, people just dont like trying to counter peni but i still think she is a good character in rivals
