I love the fact that continue to use the whispers as a metaphor for fans for and against change lol. The war with the whispers just before this scene while perfectly explained in lore is still the devs breaking the fourth wall haha

Ok, I wanted to believe this was clickbait. I was at chapter 11, when this video got recommended on my feed. And honestly.. what did you think when making the title.. way to spoil the game for me and everyone else this affected..

@@bignutty5180 Yes, and 2 months (1.5 when I played) with a 100h gameplay isn't too much to ask for non-spoiler titles. And no, I hadn't searched for ff7 reactions. I do occasionally see reactions of other games. But this popped up my feed, not searched. No matter, just change the title to "reacting to Aerith's fate" or something more tasteful

I THINK I understand what happened. Sort of. Cloud is almost completely under Sephiroth’s control, to the point that Sephiroth considers him a puppet without emotion or a will of his own. He’s also (And I think people forget this sometimes) pretty much insane by this point. Since pretty much everything we are seeing is from his perspective, and it’s been established that Cloud CANNOT handle failure or losing those he cares about, I think what’s happening is pretty straightforward: Cloud managed to fight off Sephiroth’s order to kill Aerith, and this is shown by him breaking free to block Sephiroth’s killing blow. However, it’s a hallucination. Sephiroth kills her almost identically to how she dies in the OG FF7. It’s why everything is glitching. The reality, which everyone else is reacting to, shows Aerith bleeding and dying in Cloud’s arms, while Cloud (Who again, is practically insane by this point) does not. It’s why Cloud has no reaction during the funeral but everyone else is distraught. It’s why no one but Cloud reacts to Aerith’s presence during the epilogue. By the end of Rebirth, Cloud has basically lost all remnants of his sanity. He’s being driven solely by his desire to kill Sephiroth, which is largely being implanted by Jenova as a way to drive the Black Materia to Sephiroth. It’s also why the “Dead” Aerith tells Cloud to pursue Sephiroth rather than focus on himself as she previously requested. The next game will likely feature two major plot twists at once: The first OG twist that Cloud was NEVER a soldier, that he simply inherited Zack’s memories as a way to cope with the loss of his village and mother, as well as the experimentation he underwent by Hojo. And two, that Aerith IS dead and not coming back. That Cloud has merely been manipulated by Sephiroth since the beginning and he essentially has been rendered a slave. It’s THIS revelation that I think will drive Cloud over the edge and into full blown insanity, where Tifa will have to save him.

How to ruin the most iconic scene in gaming? well here you go, this is how... When it shows she actually dies was I like ok... almost got us but then she's alive and the sad feelings immediately turn into wtf is going on? and we were robbed of the scene where she's in the water with Cloud and she lets her go. what a fucking joke. All this just to please the simps that wanted her to live. it's like bruh, that's ehat made this story amazing. the fact that we loved her but she dies.

@dannysandoval8296 you are not because the devs already said the trilogy will match with advent children. And kitaze specifically said they won't stray from the original story, just add some twists to keep us guessing. So, no. She is dead. Sephiroth laughed in the original too.

@@netangel39 not talking about that scene that's where you're confused, I'm talking about one the very last scenes which is a new scene, he looks at Aerith and starts laughing, when Cloud says "why is he laughing?" he flies away, kinda like saying got you. cause he knows the Aerith standing next to him is Jenova and like you said, they're adding twists. this would be the ultimate twist
