There are really innocent people in prisons across the country and knowing this we shouldn't support the death penalty. It's not enough to exonerate one's name after they have been executed and evidence comes out after the execution that the person was innocent

Agreed. But in this day and age of wokeness there’s always a chance The criminal will be pardoned. We shouldn’t be hearing the post execution details because nobody should care. His life should’ve been termed after it was proven he committed the crime. End of story no glory no gratification no remorse. Any media time spent should be what society can do for the victim And how they’ve gotten along in the past 25 years knowing this man was still alive and capable of being released think about that think about the peace of mind they have for all those years

Way too many innocent people locked up in the country we shouldn't support the death penalty. Since the innocence project started they have helped 20 innocent persons that were on death row, and the total number of people freed is almost 400 up until the present. God knows how many more there are but it's all more than we imagine

Did you expect smiling and laughter? I'm sure no one takes any pleasure in witnessing a person die. And ultimately there is a victim in all this. A lady lost her life. It was time to remember her and hopefully see the end of that chapter of her families life. We don't have the death penalty in the UK and I'm glad we don't. The perpetrator might be dead, but what about his family? They're not guilty of his crime but they have lost a member of their family. No one wins. The victim is still dead. Homicides will continue to be committed. There is no deterrent in this sentence; check the statistics.

Don't worry hell is there for those who don't Believe the Gospel of your Salvation which is, that Jesus Christ was Crucified, buried and rose on the 3rd day according to Scriptures and He shed His Precious Blood on the Cross for the Forgiveness of All Our sins so that we might Repent and Believe Him that we might obtain Eternal Life. Jesus is The Narrow Way and only a few find it but there is also a Broadway and there are many who enter it but the end of this way is Destruction. Don't be that person who prefers the Broadway because it is also Eternal. Today is the Day of Salvation because tomorrow is Not Promised. Believe The LORD Jesus Christ and you Shall be Saved for you do not know if there will be a tomorrow. Many people believe that once you die that's the End but that is far from the Truth, There is hell it is for real. Many people also believe in purgatory but the Truth is that there is no such thing as purgatory that is taught in the Catholic churches actually when you die you can no longer make a choice, the choice is now this very moment. So choose now, Will you Repent and Believe Jesus or Will you reject Him and condemn yourself.

Okay, we are going to have a news conference with lots of people in attendance asking questions, let’s setup the tables and chairs and the podium and by all means DO NOT place a microphone anywhere in the area where anyone asking questions will be able to be heard by those watching the news conference. Obviously we could place a small shotgun microphone aimed at the audience members asking questions but that would take all the fun out of the news conference if people watching the news conference were able to hear the questions being asked.

I know of others who spew up their own bowels, quite literally. The 20 or 25 year jail sentence is a waste of the taxpayers money, in this era with DNA and accurate forensics, 5 years max should be the jail sentence and then the penalty. Think of all that money that could have been saved keeping him in jail, it could have housed homeless people or the money used for people that are very sick or Terminally ill. A great question, an important point. We Americans are so stuck in medieval thinking it’s ridiculous. We somehow still think more violence and authoritarian fear imposing is a solution to violence and fear. (We as in the people in charge here and many citizens, not me) we GOTTA start looking at the real causes of violent behavior, and figure out how to prevent it in the first place, and how to have the best possible continuation of life after a violent individual has committed their heinous acts.

Why do they leave it so long before they do an execution.this man has been in prison for 25 years.in UK that's a life sentence.he has had time to become a different person than in 1999.i

No one , I mean no one, has the right to decide whether someone lives or not. God gives life, and only Him takes it away. His death does by no means bring back the lady he murdered 25 years ago nor does it erase the trauma he has caused to the victim's family and the children, specially The little girl he has rape. My heartfelt sympathy to all. Justice could have been served just by life in prison without parol. All involve with the execution has blood on their hands too.

Perhaps now the victim can rest in peace.......Where was the humanity in the death of the victim??Why use the prisoners surname.....Mr Honie, this shows respect for a murderer....I believe using the identification number/ department of corrections number when referencing the prisoner who was executed....This should be protocol....He will carry his shackles to / in the grave.....

I bet the creep was a bully narcissist for years before he committed these horrific atrocities. There were many times this guy could have changed but he didn’t. No doubt he did terrible things before this. He just needed to work up and become more evil for each incident.

I heard no contrition. He didn't seem to grasp the seriousness of his situation, if he had, he would have prayed to the Lord, his God. He would have begged for forgiveness from God and from his victims whom he martyred. He is now cut off from God for eternity. That is a period that is impossible to fathom.

We all have judgement day and none of us are clean of sins. However, a woman's life was taken without any regards to her life and he used a child's body for his own pleasure. Many of us have not committed such atrocious sins.

I think that there are two things to look at here: Does the death penalty end the suffering of those loved ones of the victim? Secondly which part of the lengthy drawn out process of incarceration until the death penalty is carried out or they die of natural causes whilst incarcercerated for 26 years is better punishment for the perpetrator? The cost of keeping the perpetrator incarcerated versus administrating the death penalty almost immediately after sentence is pronounced are both substantial. Personally, I believe that the perpetrator suffers more the longer it takes to commute the sentence especially being given hope that they might get their sentence reduced and then that hope is wiped out again and again. Remember that the perpetrator has family on the outside who are innocent and can't just turn off their feelings about their loved ones. We need to show them compassion.
