Streamlabs Desktop: Hotfix for VODs having no audio

Found this video after trying to stream last night and my game audio wasn't showing up in my VOD; removed the soundtrack dll and double-checked via Codes and the soundtrack references were all gone so thankfully no need to do anything within the code!! Got that "remove Soundtrack" off the VOD in SLOBS, thank you very much!!

I can't stress enough how much I appreciate you and jatorz. I used sound track for the last 4 months before it was shut down and im sad to say I miss it because I don't like the other music services. But after having no audio in my vods and then later not even having my mic audio I have been fed up. Watching this video the first time I was worried that this was not something I can fix but I buckled down and did it. And I just want to say thank you so much.

my issue was i had to hit 1 and 2 in the options just had 1 and it was a mute vod but stream was fine

Sorry I took a while to reply on this one, make sure your SLOBS plugin directory is empty (no DLLs that are Soundtrack-based). If you run into any issues, feel free to ping me on Discord!

I have a problem where all the split sounds on Streamlabs are working and it works as well when I record but when going live on twitch, there is no sound at all on my stream. Does anyone of you know what might be at fault?

Ive been trying to fix the issue, but everytime i save the code, and go do a test, the code re sets and the "remove soundtrack blah blah blah" returns, and no audio is on the vod. >What am i doing wrong?

Right? I actually explained the issue to the agent I spoke to at Streamlabs, and he said he'd sent it over to the engineers -- but now, after speaking to a couple of other people, it seems their fix is to basically get people to hard-reset their fucking profiles, which pretty much clears your setup. For me, that wasn't an option, hence the video It's honestly not great, you'd expect more out of a successful engineering team (not a shot I'd like one of my engineers pull this), yet here we are 🤷‍♂

I did add a note in the video description about this: in the "SceneCollections" directory, you want to identify the JSON file that correlates to the broken profile in SLOBS. The easiest way to do this is go into the "SceneCollections" directory, sort by "Last Modified", and then modify the broken profile in SLOBS (add a new source temporarily, or move something in the scene). This then updates the JSON profile and moves it to the top of the list in your explorer. THAT is the file that you need to open in your code editor of choice in order to find the references to "Soundtrack" that *may* exist.

@@vyygir.network thanks for getting back to me I ended up just contacting a support agent through discord and was able to resolve the issue. Had to delete the dll file then make a whole new collection and it automatically processed that soundtrack didn’t exist 👍🏼

I could but I feel like this would definitely be less helpful to most people, as I use a GoXLR interface which means I get more virtual audio interfaces than usual. The only other solution I can *really* think of is to setup some virtual audio drivers, but my experience there isn't great, so I probably wouldn't be much help!

When I re-open SLOBS, it re-adds those Nodes to my file. I already deleted it from the plugins and uninstalled. :( Any ideas?

Have you triple-checke that Soundtrack by Twitch is no longer installed on your system? If it's re-creating the nodes, then it sounds like it's re-adding the source. Check the various directories in "C:\Program Files\obs-studio\obs-plugins" and see if you cad find any instance of "soundtrack-plugin.dll", or even anywhere else on your system. If it exists, delete it as needed and redo the steps in the video.

When you say you don't have audio, do you mean at all in your stream? This sounds more like an audio configuration issue than anything else, so I'd double-check your sources!

I'd honestly recommend Visual Studio Code to do this. It's free, open-source, and has far greater features and benefits.

@@vyygir.network I did fix it. I didn't mean to come across as complaining. What I meant was the majority of people coming to find a solution don't actually want a lecture in JSON. So shortening it to the core issue then giving the solution would probably keep most peoples attention. Have a great rest of your day!
