Consider this-The American Boxer is not only more "skilled" but the "speed gap" between the two is so great (and I mean in EVERY move) that the Mexican could not be "effective" even if he had "exploited" the "openings" that you presented. Am I wrong or am I right?

Well, I think that you can beat speed with precision and timing, so if the Mexican had used his chances when he had openings then it would not matter. The Mexican even didnt see openings when they were there. Once you give the body some shots the quick fighter slows down, the pain will slow him down and take away the courage. So no, I disagree. Look at Genadi Golovkin, yes he was quick, but he wasnt known for being quick or smart like Floyd, he hit very hard at the right time in the right moment to the right opening. He wasnt known for being the fastest fighter.
