I enjoyed the movie for the comedy that it was. Heh.... they even made a video game of Street Fighter based on the movie version, ala Mortal Kombat styled animation with the movies actors/ actresses. (Seeing Kylie Minogue in the actual Cammy outfit....niiiice!) It didn't play near as smooth as the typical Street Fighter II game, but it was ok.

I was a young fella back then in my early 20's, & when the game was released I was in my 1st year of High school. So both the Streetfighter & Mortal Kombat movie's was kind of big back then & it was watched all the time when I had the time.

When i was younger we would sit around and hear rumors about this movie and who would be in it. Rumor was that arnold swrezenegar ( however you spell it 🤷🏻‍♂️) was gonna be zangief cuz of the accent Chuck norris was ken Van damme was actually ryu Brandon lee as fei long Tyson as balrog So many others i cant remember right now. If I were the creator of SFII, this movie would never happen. I would write my own script to a live-action SF mini-series after the game's release, and I would have Dean Cain as Ryu, Brandon Lee as myself, Kurt Russell as Guile, and still Ming Na Wen as Chun Li in mind for the starring cast.

Why not Brandon Lee as Ryu? Dean Cain isn’t a martial artist, and unlike Kurt Russel he didn’t have an action background. So casting him as the best martial artist in the series seems weird.

@@jasonfrancese8359 Well Kurt Russell... I could be wrong, but he would actually be a number one choice for Guile if he kept bulking up since Big Trouble in Little China. Russell became noticed as a potential Guile after Capcom fans watched his starring role in Soldier. Dean Cain is the only Asian (sort of) movie-star in Hollywood that I know of who bares the most resemblance to Ryu, especially in 1993 during his young-hunk decade, all Cain needed was some training in bodybuilding and karate like how Brad Pitt did for the role of Tyler Durden. Last but not least: Brandon Lee! All he needs is more bodybuilding and blonde-dye for his long hair. He would get my flashy kicks on-point, he would pull off the cocksure but charismatic personality, and even in his own personal life he has a fiancée named Eliza just like I do. Taking this role also might've saved his life, away from tragically getting shot on set from The Crow.
