Well Capcom seems to have something against Ken for a while, he is the only one with problems in his life while everyone is the same and as there is no logic to certain comments against him, if we see it they even desperately seek to give more popularity to others, the fact that Ken has been the most regularly played character in this game must affect their minds.

Ironically I don't see this shallow version of Bison (which is to say the canon one, not just the resurrected one) saying "I'm sorry" like Raul Julia's awesome Bison does. Maybe a colder 'Destroying your village? I don't remember any of it'. Making him more like Raul Julia's version of Bison would have been amusing and awesome (if a little silly) but I'd have settled for him being more neutral rather then just basically being the same person all over again and using amnesia as a cheap excuse to bring him back.

He also wouldn't let Ed just lying there when he can feel he would be a perfect replacement body. I don't think he is shallow, it's just he wants a blank slate and he is deliberately letting go of everything tying him to his past self.

From what I gathered, He went through a Resurrection process though it was incomplete, So while everyone else sees him as Bison Still, He has little to no recollection of his known identity or his Many Misdeeds.....But Still carrys alot of evil and malice with the psycho power, which is kinda insane to think of the trauma he had no idea he brought to many fighters

@@jayg613 Honestly, it would have been better if the amnesia meant that he was more introspective and more neutral, like Akuma. Instead of being full of outright malice, he'd just want to temper this power of his that he's struggling to contain, and wouldn't be afraid of getting his hands a bit dirty to do so. Instead, the amnesia element just feels shoehorned in to try and justify bringing him back yet again.

There is a certain level of implication that Psycho Power, while not inherently evil, exacerbates evil tendencies in people. It's why one of Ed's round win animation sees him laughing maniacally despite not being evil. We might be in a situation where this revived Bison, trying to find his identity, is letting the evil side of Psycho Power run amok inside of him as long as it provides power to challenge strong foe.

@@LloydTheZephyrian Yeah when I first saw Bison was back I rolled my eyes. Let the guy die. He's lost his relevance and interest. JP makes for a much more interesting villain. However when I learned the amnesia I was like: Oh... oh that could work. This could make him a very interesting character, if he has no connection to Shadaloo and especially if he rejects it, ironically similar to Cammy, though of course he could never go down the path she did, it would be as you say more neutral. It's all for naught though they blew it and turned him more or less back as he was. Yawn.

This is why I play world tour, its commonly shit on but it brings A LOT into light when it comes to the actual fighters. In some of M. Bisons dialogue he himself states that "he has no actual desire get revenge on these fighters that defeated him" not only that but he even made an assumption he was an "INCOMPLETE" clone of bison who somehow prematurely got out of his containment.... somewhere. And after getting to see all his dialouge i inferred this new "bison" is a bit of a neutral thing. Because technically speaking HE hasn't done anything wrong per se. And expresses no desire to do so. Even saying that if you, or anyone wishes to leave his service. He wont hold any grudges against you and accept your leave. And if he has no servants he'll just do it himself. So while he IS selfish. In sharp contrast of the OG bison. He seems (atleast so far) to possess no desire to push this ambition on other people.

It's a new body that is incomplete and has unstable control of Psycho power. He is not OG Bison but eventually absorbs OG Bison's spirit and memories. It's what Bison does every time he loses a body but this time it was done prematurely and the host body was able to overcome OG Bison's spirit before being taken over by it. New Bison is drunk with power and wants to rule world just because he has the power to do it so he is effectively OG Bison.

I believe capcom regrets creating ken and if not for his popularity would remove him from sf. They have gone out of their way to diminish his character to elevate ryu. The reason for him not being as competent as ryu or akuma has always been his lack of training due to his work and family. Now that he has the time and motivation to train and get stronger he is still shit upon storywise. Is it because he is s the American counterpart to ryu?? Or is that they just hate ken....

nah i like to think the reason they've done ken dirty hard is that Ryu has practically completed his character arc of becoming a master of his ansastuken and royally kicking Bison's ass. Ken's story seems like a big foreshadow to a canon Violent Ken, which can set himself up to be completely divergent from Ryu's journey towards masterdom. Dragging a character through hardship and humiliation doesnt neccessarily mean the writers have it against ken.

Capcom must just be worried about the preferences of some for Ken over Ryu, Ken has always been close to Ryu, Akuma is on another level from them, Ryu always loses to Akuma and just base Akuma, and maybe with the new way of thinking of Capcom, see the problems of having a rich American man who is capable of being so strong, that's why they took everything from him, but not in level if he is on the list of opponents that Bison has some desire for revenge as he himself mentions him right after Ryu.
