For me, it’s the avatar battles that I’m looking forward to the most. Nothing worse than playing someone who knows your character SOO well and has an answer for everything. With AVATAR battle, you can keep an ace up your sleeve or create a move set that balances out a characters weakness. It’s going to be great or very annoying if people start using a meta:

Drive impact is the equivalent of nuclear weapons. Best counter to a random drive impact is a drive impact on reaction. So at higher level play people are afraid to use them because most skilled players can react to them. At best it can be used to punish a predictable poke.

I'm thiking of getting a fight stick for these new fighting games coming out this year and next. Maybe the 8bitdo fightstick. Will it be easy to transition after being so used to using controller for many years?

not so much at first but it takes time. Some learn faster some slower but use it every day to get used to it and once the muscle memory kicks in it will be second nature. Dont know about that stick but make sure that the lever of the stick and the buttons are changable. Then you can easily switch to a real japanese lever if you like playing with a stick

Problem I've had with all fighting games apart from Super Smash is being able to do special moves. After a while I'd forget or were impossible. The easier control scheme option is the big deal for me. Wanted an option like this for years. I'll hopefully buy it tomorrow
