Fact is he almost didn't finish the movie at all, and he died not long after filming was completed. They shot all his scenes first, so that they were sure they had them, as Raul told them they had to. And yes, he did do this movie for his kids. A guy with so much heart. @@sauloborges8747 They aren't making fun of it. They are praising it for how awesome it is. It's this golden gem of a comeback line and sick burn. We LOVE the line, it so perfectly encompasses the idea of "I don't give a shit about your problems, they are so beneath me." in 6 words. And there is some truth to it really. A tyrannical dictator like Bison, WOULD do stuff like burn villages to the ground, on a regular basis. He'd never remember all of it, it was just a step along a path to his goal. To the people in the village though, it WOULD be one of the single most defining moments of their lives. So it's completely realistic in it's concept, and absolutely brutal in it's execution by Mr. Julia. We're not making fun of it, we are paying it, and him, the ultimate homage. And the use of practical effects mixed with CGI also good. Transformers showed Hollywood "hey action is cool" after 9/11. Fantasy reigned supreme after that event then BAM this film came onto the scene and just....whew. Then Iron Man and Dark Knight came on and showed up Hollywood AGAIN-showing superheroes could be both fun and serious. The late 2000s-2010s was just such a good time to be alive for a movie lover.

"I wish they made a Street Fighter movie more like Street Fighter" You have to review Street Fighter Assassin's Fist, I think you will be pleasantly surprised
@ricardomendoza-oy8mp4 жыл бұрын
As a fan of Jeremy for almost 10 years now. It is so cathartic to finally have him talk about Street fighter. He had admitted this was his guilty pleasure for years. Thank God. Also the true fans remember that one burn that he did to one guy by putting the time stamp to a section of his teacher of our idiot brother. Legendary

When in college me and my roommate downloaded an arcade emulator with all the classics, so we played the shit of SF2, and one day decided to watch the film, we do it and was the only thing we talked all week afterwards, we talked about it so much that our third roommate watched is separately so he can chip in the conversation, no other film got us so riled up no matter how good or bad it was, and this is saying something.

Raul Julia Was in his last days and he wanted to surprise his kids who loved the Street Fighter 2 game so much. When I used to play the movie version of the game it makes me think. Wow this guy has done so much to for fill his kids dreams before he was going to die it brought a smile to his kids and that is all he wanted to do. Accomplishing something like that for your kids must be an amazing feeling and being remembered for that. Raoul Julia will always will be remembered for this achievement for future generations for toughs who watch the Street Fighter 2 documentary of his life. Which you can actually find on youtube. He was one of our best 90's nostalgia actors in Them times I wish he was still here today as he would of done more Adams Family and maybe more Street fighter movies etc. I know in his last days he felt very proud and accomplished for doing something his kids could only dream of which was basically being a famous character in their most favorite video game. Now that is a man which I give true respect for and that is one of the many other reasons why I like watching his movies. If I ever have kids I hope to do accomplish something of my Children's dreams too. Raoul Julia lived by a good example of being an amazing father in his time.

@chrisprobst69634 жыл бұрын
@@mar10ssj1 no, it's a cheesy movie, where the cheese is so amazingly cheesy that you forget its stinky cheese... and you love it. I love Demolition man, but it's not a "Great" movie. It's a movie that is objectively bad, but so amazingly polished and over the top that it's incredibly easy to like, despite how objectively bad it is. Saying you love a film doesnt make it a better film, just like saying you love a song doesnt make the band better musicians
@mar10ssj14 жыл бұрын
@@chrisprobst6963 Demolition Man had far less cheese and lots more action. The story was more coherent. It was a box office HIT unlike Street Fighter. Street Fighter was flawed because it was a video game movie without any of the video game lore. Which was one of the reasons it was not well accepted when it came out. It would have ended like the Super Mario Brothers Movie except that it had Raul Julia and his EPIC performance. Which is why Jeremy praises Julia for his performance. Street Fighter it did not take itself so serious like Super Mario and they dialed it up to 11 in cheese unlike Super Mario. Demolition Man was a commercial success unlike Street Fighter. People don't pay money to see a BAD movie, generally speaking.
