It's infamous, it's cheesy, it's 90's, yet Raul Julia is epic. Here's my review of my personal "guilty pleasure favorite" STREET FIGHTER: THE MOVIE!

Raul Julia was on his last days, during his cancer illness, and he knew this movie is "all over the top", but his kids love the game and he accept the role for them, despite severe pain, so i wouldn't be so harsh on him in a fight scenes, this man love his kids so much that gave them this present on his last days and i think this act of love deserve to be recognized and appreciated.

@@miklorr "He couldn't keep up with jcvd". JCVD was in his prime at that time and nobody could keep up with him so saying Raul Julia could not keep up was not a reference to his illness. I was listening for Jeremy to say things like "the late Raul Julia" or just mention his illness and he didn't.

Raul Julia was a real hero making this movie, he already knew he was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer but did this movie anyway because his kids loved Street Fighter and wanted it to be his final gift for them. And boy he acted the crap out of the movie, went so over the top in an awesome way.

Fact is he almost didn't finish the movie at all, and he died not long after filming was completed. They shot all his scenes first, so that they were sure they had them, as Raul told them they had to. And yes, he did do this movie for his kids. A guy with so much heart. Even van Damme remembers him fondly, even though he was high on cocaine every day of filming.

@@sauloborges8747 They aren't making fun of it. They are praising it for how awesome it is. It's this golden gem of a comeback line and sick burn. We LOVE the line, it so perfectly encompasses the idea of "I don't give a shit about your problems, they are so beneath me." in 6 words. And there is some truth to it really. A tyrannical dictator like Bison, WOULD do stuff like burn villages to the ground, on a regular basis. He'd never remember all of it, it was just a step along a path to his goal. To the people in the village though, it WOULD be one of the single most defining moments of their lives. So it's completely realistic in it's concept, and absolutely brutal in it's execution by Mr. Julia. We're not making fun of it, we are paying it, and him, the ultimate homage. That line will be quoted by film nerds, for DECADES.

Raul Julia Was in his last days and he wanted to surprise his kids who loved the Street Fighter 2 game so much. When I used to play the movie version of the game it makes me think. Wow this guy has done so much to for fill his kids dreams before he was going to die it brought a smile to his kids and that is all he wanted to do. Accomplishing something like that for your kids must be an amazing feeling and being remembered for that. Raoul Julia will always will be remembered for this achievement for future generations for toughs who watch the Street Fighter 2 documentary of his life. Which you can actually find on youtube. He was one of our best 90's nostalgia actors in Them times I wish he was still here today as he would of done more Adams Family and maybe more Street fighter movies etc. I know in his last days he felt very proud and accomplished for doing something his kids could only dream of which was basically being a famous character in their most favorite video game. Now that is a man which I give true respect for and that is one of the many other reasons why I like watching his movies. If I ever have kids I hope to do accomplish something of my Children's dreams too. Raoul Julia lived by a good example of being an amazing father in his time.

I'd LOVE for Jeremy to review Transformers 2007. Say what you will about the sequels but the first FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGED Hollywood. Even Avengers 2012 was influenced by Transformers-especially sound design wise. And the score the SCORE is just....almost too good for it lol. And the use of practical effects mixed with CGI also good. Transformers showed Hollywood "hey action is cool" after 9/11. Fantasy reigned supreme after that event then BAM this film came onto the scene and just....whew. Then Iron Man and Dark Knight came on and showed up Hollywood AGAIN-showing superheroes could be both fun and serious. The late 2000s-2010s was just such a good time to be alive for a movie lover.

Kylie Minogue as Cammy. Who incidentally may have inspired the original character design. She was asked to be in it after the director saw her on a magazine cover while scouting locations. He didn’t know there was already a connection. JCVD actually cut a lot of supporting characters scenes just to make it more about his. That’s what really killed this.

@mar10ssj1

@@chrisprobst6963 Demolition Man had far less cheese and lots more action. The story was more coherent. It was a box office HIT unlike Street Fighter. Street Fighter was flawed because it was a video game movie without any of the video game lore. Which was one of the reasons it was not well accepted when it came out. It would have ended like the Super Mario Brothers Movie except that it had Raul Julia and his EPIC performance. Which is why Jeremy praises Julia for his performance. Street Fighter it did not take itself so serious like Super Mario and they dialed it up to 11 in cheese unlike Super Mario. Demolition Man was a commercial success unlike Street Fighter. People don't pay money to see a BAD movie, generally speaking.
