🎥Chinese Street Food in Kunming: • Extreme Chinese Street...

Big thanks to Jordan and Anita from Chengdu Food Tours: chengdufoodtours.com/
PART 1: Ultimate Chinese Street Food Tour of Chengdu, Sichuan, China! This is Part 1 of an epic 14 hour day of eating as much Sichuan Chinese food as possible in a single day - this is only half of the food, be sure to watch Part 2 as well! #ChineseFood #streetfood #Sichuan
Again, a big thank you to Jordan and Anita from Chengdu Food Tours ( / chengdufoodtours ) for taking me around Chengdu for this unbelievable food tour. Sichuan is one of the greatest cuisines of China, and the world, known for numbing Sichuan peppercorn, chili oil, layers of fermented and pickled ingredients, and huge amounts of flavor. I was very excited to go on an ultimate Sichuan Chinese street food tour to learn more about this fascinating cuisine.
Here’s the main food and restaurants we ate at in this video:
ShiEr Qiao Baozi - One of the most common things to eat for breakfast in China is baozi, and this corner little restaurant is extremely popular and their family favorite spot for baozi in Chengdu. The minced pork version, which is their main one, is probably the best baozi I’ve ever had. The meat filling was delicious, but really it was the bread, the dough that stood out. Total price - 24 RMB ($3.38)
Duck Blood Snack - One our way to the market, we had another Sichuan street food classic, coagulated duck blood drenched in chili oil. Delicious. Total price - 7 RMB ($0.98)
Wang Ma Roast Rabbit - One of the most popular Sichuan Chinese street food snacks is roasted rabbit, shredded and loaded with chili oil, Sichuan peppercorn, and chili oil. What an ultra tasty snack. Half rabbit - 33 RMB ($4.65)
Market - The market is vibrant and full of action and energy, and a perfect place to get a feel for the fresh ingredients used in Sichuan food cooking. The highlight for me was tasting fresh Sichuan peppercorn, both green and red versions, which were so pungent it was almost hard to breath from chewing on a few. Luckily, sugar reduces the effect of Sichuan peppercorn, and so we ate a persimmon. What a food experience!
Noodles - One of the most well known of all Sichuan Chinese street food dishes are chili noodles, and so Anita brought us to one of her favorite spots. The noodles were cooked perfectly, then tossed in chili oil and herbs, with extra pork meat. They were unbelievably tasty. Price - 12 RMB ($1.69) per bowl
Sifang Dumpling Shop - Finally, for the last morning snack before lunch, we ate some Sichuan dumplings, again, one of the most eat street foods of Chengdu. The dumplings were boiled, then seasoned with chili oil, garlic, and sesame seeds. Total price - 35 RMB ($4.93)
Again, this is only Part 1 of this incredible 14-hour Chinese street food tour of Chengdu. Keep watching Part 2 to see all the rest of the food!

Here is a dude who never wears his welcome out. He sticks to food, avoid controversial subjects ( politics, religion ) , gets along with everyone, and he is always and upbeat and cheerful mood. His enthusiasm is contagious. Works the local contact network, certainly pays who gives him the entry into the good stuff, and his support crew . He got the formula down. That's the sad thing tho, people now days are so sensitive with controversial subjects. People just think the other side is stupid and conversation heats up super quick to the point where we can't have conversation on these subjects but these are very important subjects that need to be talked about.

Great video! I can't wait for part 2! I've always love watching videos on China, especially Chinese cuisine. All the food looked absolutely delicious! Chinese cuisine has always been so interesting to me because of a few things...It's long history going back thousands of years and just how extensive and varied it can be with thousands of recipes, ingredients, styles, and techniques used. Plus, learning how much influence Chinese cuisine had on cuisines all around the world blows my mind. So many dishes either originated there or were based on something from there.

Why on earth should we want to know about the bad ones? He’s doing us a favour by choosing the good ones he has experienced. So just leave him alone about never reviewing bad places. The world is a better place by focussing and advertising GOOD things. Life is too short to complain about the bad. Hi Mark, Really enjoy your channel & all the fantastic types of food you've been introducing from all over the world! :) Always wanted to ask you the following 2 questions, hope you'll be able to take some time to answer them amidst all the delicious food :) (1) How do you manage to consume so much food whenever you visit these places, specially if it's something like a 14-hour food tour like the above? (2) Also, do you actually finish all of the food introduced in your videos, or do you just eat a bit of the food for each stop? Especially for some of the food where the portions are huge just for 1 person & you're introducing 3-4 different types of food within a span of just few hours (e.g. between lunch & dinner)? Keep up the excellent work Mark! :)

VazO_ Sichuan province do not have tradition to eat dogs , because there are two many food to choose. The bio- diversity in Sichuan is abundant. Dog is only popular in some specific province like Guangxi. Also as a Chinese I’ve never heard any news or any people talking about eating cat in my 30 years life in China. I think people don’t eat cat or dog in most part of the world , simply because it isn’t economical. Cats and dogs produce much less meat than pig, and they eat meat as well.

This is cool to feature Chinese street food that is wholesome and fresh. Everything looks so amazing. It's such a stark contrast to other places in China that have years of recurring food safety incidents and undercover documentaries that feature food being intentionally substituted with toxic powders or additives to enhance taste, save frying oil and to allow to use less meat in dishes.

Out of over a billion people, there are some Chinese people that are pretty cool; I know, I've lived there and met them. Plus, you have to admit, the food is pretty good over there too. I lived in Chengdu for over a year; have you ever lived in China?
