Street Outlaws Turbo Rotary Mazda RX-7 - OKC NoPrep

The Bola De Humo Racing Mazda RX-7 going rounds at the Armageddon No Prep event at Thunder Valley Raceway Park in OKC. The car features a 1.3 liter rotary engine with an 88mm turbo. They raced their way to the Outlaw Class Final where they drew the baddest No Prep car in the country, The Birdman Firebird.

5 years pass and it’s starting to change, tuners have found out that rotary’s can have a linear torque band, which means keeping the torque high at low rpm’s all the way to high end, more 13b rx7s with only 1300 Hp are nearly clocking 4.20 and below in the 1/8th

alohim king people always Bragg about V8 s they won't run with tons of spray or a bunch of turbo's if there so fast run them without spray and turbo's and get mopped up by 1.3 litres

@@wildimpo Be real about it. There was only one race in this video(Birdman) and the rotary got beat. Let's also be real about rotary engines. They actually displace 4 times their given capacity. A 1.3 is essentially a 5 liter, except the 1.3 gets worse fuel mileage and makes less power. The worst part about rotaries, by miles, is the fact that they have to be rebuilt once a month. They are the most unreliable engines ever made.

​@@wvXvxvXvw Rotaries actually have only 2 cycles - (suck and squeeze then bang and blow) when compared to a piston engine which has 4 distinct cycles ( suck, squeeze, bang, blow) and rotaries are therefore rated (on the track) at a doubling of their capacity. Thus a 1.3 litre 13B rotary engine is rated at 2.6 litres due to this difference in cycles. This is a long way from your stated figure of 4 times. As an aside to all rotary fans and the curious; did you know Mazda initially made a 13A motor that was front wheel drive, the "B" motor being rear wheel drive!!?!!

+Shawn Tyson A win is a win and a loss a loss but Street Outlaws is a joke. There's better racing in my backyard watching the dog chase squirrels around. That RX-7 is a mid 7 second car in the 1/4, the elco isn't even close. I would go out on a limb and say he's faster than any of the cars on that show.
