Hats off to street photographers, they've got the balls to deal with the hastles of capturing images of strangers. For me, I deal with people everyday and when I'm out with my gear I'd prefer to be alone in the woods.

I like what was said at one point, that, if you're too busy chasing likes on Instagram, you're not expressing yourself, you're shooting what other people want to see.

I love it, this video and the photographers. I love Street Photography and for me it is the element of capturing candid moments, real moments. A reason I shift to using only Smartphone now for it. Everything is a story when you do street photography, people, places, objects, light and shadows.

Well, you can hear from one of them (me - Adam Robert Young). I have a street photography video dropping on Wednesday on my channel (plus a little documentary I made about the same time as this one on street photography - but I'm not a team of film students, so please don't compare the quality).

As a film shooter in my time, nowadays I love street photography. Mostly a Pentax user, when I am in the streets I carry my Ricoh GRii and a Leica C-Lux (they cover most situations). Sometimes I carry a Pentax QS-1 with a few lenses. I love small because I travel A LOT! For periods of 3 to 12 months. Thank you for your video!

I did street photography for many years in NYC, and it was not always easy. If you keep a low profile, and use a small camera, ie. Leica, you will be successful ! PS stay away from tough guys ! 😂

Street photographers, those ultimate ethnographer-artists, can teach us a lot about ourselves, and society. It is important work in a long tradition that is as old as photography itself. Great documentary short! IG: @alexzafer

@tylerdunbar26255 жыл бұрын
Just be discreet, use a small stealthy camera and have fun, the chances of someone attacking you are very low.
@BrisbaneChannel4 жыл бұрын
Depending on where you are, the worst that is likely to happen is that people will give you dirty looks or perhaps cuss you out and tell you to delete the photos. The key is learning to brush that kind of thing off and move on. Knowing that legally, if you're in a public place, there is no legitimate claim people can make for privacy helps. If you're in a place where people are likely to get physical, that's a different story, though (this is Adam from the documentary).
@billbadger94794 жыл бұрын
If people wants privacy, they shouldn't go to public places. So you're not invading anybody's privacy by shooting people in public.

Right. 99% of actual "scene" performs a sterile style exercise. The photos are all the same, or at least conditioned by the fashions of the moment ... Hats that float in black closed to exhaustion, shadow cuts that point to unfortunate passers-by ... And instagram and those who do repost amplifies all this nothing. Too bad, because the good ones with personality, in the end, disappear in this swamp.
@cloro-82435 жыл бұрын
@@thestudio2015 you apparently didn't understand what he meant by that comment.

Cloro -, where are the W. Eugene Smith, Elliott Erwitt, Brassaï, Robert Frank, and Vivian Maier of today? Where are the street photographers who chase shadows and stories today? Where is the composition? How many million more boring snapshots of street corners and crosswalks and of people staring at their smartphones do we have to endure under the guise of, “street photography”?
