I wonder what John Loftus, the atheist and former Christian apologist would say about the two views?

Brother, I hope you at least hear the feedback that several Christians have given you. It seems they are saying you lack compassion in your presentation. If valid, the Comforter will surely help you if you know Him.

@@waholoopesorry74 The Messiah's words and His preaching is fine. Jesus is God's Son and was helping people thousands of years prior to the events at The Cross. See Proverbs 30:4. We are not as worthy, we are to preach in the way in which Jesus asked us to - not in the way Jesus did. We are to use The Words from Jesus as our instructions and we should not ignore these instructions for us and pretend we are as worthy. See Matthew 23-8 and Matthew 12-50. How can a person do the will of God without The Relationship with God? Love, forgiveness, kindness and living one's life by example is how to remain in God's Grace while speaking to others. The words of Jesus are like basic math. Religion is people who did not succeed at applying basic math in themselves, trying to apply calculus to you. The people doing that should stop because they turn many more people away than any possible help they provide.

@@Tom-and-Jerry-again John the Baptist introduced the Messiah. That was the role he was born for. How did he do it?

Jesus told us how to introduce The Gospel. The Gospel is THE RELATIONSHIP. See John 15-26 and John 14-20. Jesus told us to not teach others in a global setting but only introduce The Messiah in The Way Jesus instructed. See Matthew 23-8.

I don't understand how any of those verses apply. I do know that the last thing Jesus told the 11 (12 minus Judas, he hadn't been replaced yet) was for them to go and make disciples of all nations, and I know the book of Acts is full of accounts of them all (plus Paul, Barnabas, etc.) going from place to place and open air preaching just like this guy in the video is doing in order to fulfill that commandment. I'm not aware of God ever telling them that they were doing it wrong. I get that open air preaching wasn't the only thing that was happening, but it's where the RELATIONSHIP started with people who needed to hear the Gospel. I think it's western culture that has a problem with confrontation, not Jesus. Jesus used invitation, no doubt. But He also issued plenty of challenge as well. He didn't hold back from confronting people about anything. And He also preached publicly to strangers as well as disciples. I don't get the objections, frankly. Finally, I'd like to know what the guy in the video who was objecting to the preaching is doing to bring people to Christ. Let's judge the trees by the fruit.

@@hurster You wrote about "confrontation." Jesus definitely has a problem with that - it's in many places in The Words of Jesus. See Matthew 7-12 as one example. Shaming and casting stones with global onlookers is worse than the small crowd accusing an adulteress. I think a person must apply The Instructions from Jesus into their life to be able to understand The rest of The New Testament and The Torah correctly. The words of Jesus are like basic math - you must not just read them, you must know how to apply them into your heart and mind. It's called harboring The Holy Spirit of GOD within yourself in everything you do. Everyone in this world is a sinner and every day usually. People keep the evil paradigm of this world and the painful status quo supported with their misguided actions and misinterpretation of scripture. Surely, sinners need help. But Jesus was clear that the "heavy lifting" for an individual must come from GOD. People should stop pretending to play the role of GOD. Do people and preachers really believe GOD is not up to the task? Don't they understand that GOD deserves this role, and so do individual souls? We are to provide an introduction to The Relationship. That is The Way - see John 15:26. And see what comes next, the "delivery of testimony" in John 15:27. It's delivery of a personal experience to encourage others, it's not teaching, again see Matthew 23:8. "Bible study" is not even close to what these people in these videos are doing! These preachers are committing a worse sin than are the others - they are turning many more away from wanting to know Christ than the few that maybe they help. The Words of Jesus are like basic math - a person must know how to apply the knowledge. You may know basic math but if you can't apply it, will you really be able to make change when needed to? Religion is people who could not apply basic math to themselves, trying to apply calculus to you.

@@Tom-and-Jerry-again Absolutely not. Confrontation has nothing to do with "judging," and telling people about the Gospel is exactly what I would have people do for me. In fact, let's talk about that. I didn't grow up in a household where anyone worshipped God. I had no role models for that. If it hadn't been for things like seeing street preachers and evangelists I would have had ver little opportunity to be exposed to the Gospel. Those experiences were valuable for me and contributed to my eventual acceptance. Did I stop what i was doing and accept Christ on the spot? Heck no. But they were seeds that sprouted much later. So yeah, if I were to to really unto others what I would have them do unto me, I should be out preaching like the guy in the video. "Confrontation" simply means confronting people with something they may not have thought about. It means communicating the truth. It doesn't mean you have to be judgy or rude...and there's no evidence from that video that the preacher was being either of those things, btw. I find your arguments to be completely non-compelling, nor any of the scriptural references appropriate to your arguments. What about my scriptural references? Did Jesus command the 11 to "live good lives, be good role models, and people will come to you, and THEN you can tell the about Me?" Or did He say, "GO FORTH and make disciples of all the nations?" And did they then go forth and preach just like this guy was doing? In public? To people who did and also did not have an interest in what they were saying? To the point that they were stoned, beaten, imprisoned, and finally martyred (talk about confrontation)? This is the last thing I'm going to post, as Christians are not supposed to argue and show discord to the world, but please consider that your opinion on this is not informed by the Bible at all. That it is actually informed by the world. After a few exchanges my conclusion is that you either have a very surface level-beginner level understanding of the Bible or you simply don't want this to be true so you are twisting yourself into a pretzel to avoid the obvious conclusion. Either way, my opinion that this whole, "Oh, you shouldn't tell people something they might not want to hear, that could drive them away from God" thing is from Satan. IMO he thinks that's a great reason to keep the Gospel to yourself. And it wouldn't hurt to brush up on what Jesus said about the world and how the world would regard those who did what He did (which was preach in.public to people who both wanted to hear Him as well as people who didn't). If you're not getting blowback from the world, you're not doing something right. Said Jesus. He also said He didn't come to bring peace to the world, but division. Anyway, sorry if I'm a little heavy on challenge here, but I am of the opinion that there's nothing wrong with it. Jesus used it (oh yes He did) when appropriate, and this is not a game we're playing. It's deadly serious.

@@hurster Again, Jesus can and has admonished evil people. However, we are not worthy to give instructions about The Gospel in the way Jesus does but to present The Gospel the way Jesus told us how to, and to give testimony, and to help others. Jesus allows us to take some liberty once we harbor The Holy Spirit of GOD permanently within us. But public shaming is not the way. While the discussion of "hell' might help some people who are in prison and are planning to continue with crime once they get out - these are rare and private situations. For "seed" planting... It's great that it finally worked for you. However, how do you know that a simple introduction to The Gospel would not have also worked for you? Again, we are talking about private conversations or small groups of likeminded people who are at the same level of understanding as in a proper Bible study group, for example. So how do you know other messages would not have worked? Something like, "I met GOD. I remember my Creation by GOD and my purpose for entering this world, and the last thing GOD told me prior to birth was The Books I should use as my instructions while here." Again, John 15:26 and John 15:27. It does work to ask a person to read aloud Matthew 7:7 through Matthew 7:12 - that always plants a "seed." But if a person's heart is very hardened, then some less public facing help could be required, but it does not require shaming or declaring the other person's on their way to "hell." There is a difference between widely viewed public and more private discussions about life and THE CREATOR. However, and it's a very big "however," GOD deserves to be a person's Teacher and Jesus was super strong with his words about this in Matthew 23 and in other places in The Gospel. GOD deserves to be an individual human soul's Teacher. We should not put ourselves ahead of GOD. I've repeated this many times on many yt "church channel" videos and with mega and large organizational church pasters: Their efforts to help a few people, do a great disservice to potentially millions of others and to GOD.
