Super video JT...you "dared go into the dark", and you came out shining!! 👍 Starting out, framing with the traditional lamppost in the foreground was perfect. After you briefly wandered into the darkness, the "WOW" moment was when you swung the camera around (back) into the street lamp's glow @7:05. That second train's passing -- illuminated only by the crossing gate's red flashers was fine...@16:45, that shot of the "speed-lettered" SP autorack could have easily been taken out of a 1970's-era railfan's snapshot album. Amtrak's southbound Auto-Train performs very similar "street running" through the Carolinas, and -- believe me -- as a passenger, it's damn worth "staying up" for!!! BTW...Huma-Huma's "Hey Sailor" is the perfect nighttime soundtrack!! 👌👌

This is a great video for those like me who can’t get to sleep easily. I spent my early years being lulled to sleep by trains (mostly steam hauled in the early 60s on the nearby railway, I’m from the middle of England) If a train was late or a different train ran in the dark hours, we used to ask Walt Pick the signal man (Tower Operator)what was going on.

Both DPS humming quietly like a sleeping giant! The flashing red crossing lights on that second train made me think of a ghost train because only one car at a time would come in to view. I thought it was kinda cool! But I think if you did more nighttime videos more light would be needed much like the first train.👍 Thanks Brian.

What a great street train to capture at night... it was a long one too, as you pointed out as well. Credos to the driver who didn't want to wake the town folk with blowing the horn too much. Nice looking little town! Hey, you have the same music as X22 report has... check him out! Love the shot of the gates closing at night... it shows more of the actions they perform! Hey, that second train didn't use their horns at all as far as I could tell, just the bell? You were right about that street light... it did go out, ha and you mentioned the same! Well the pup look fully grown, now... is that right, JT? The flowers are a nice touch at the end!

I enjoyed watching these two videos of trains at night, Jaw Tooth! Both trains in this video were long trains of auto racks that were loaded with vehicles. The train through Lawrenceburg, Indiana made a lot of noise as it passed. Do the CSX trains blow their horns as they go through Lawrenceburg later at night when people are sleeping? Our view of the train in Glendle, Ohio would have been improved if there had been better lighting. Thank you for staying out late to capture these trains at night.

The platform and business lights at Lawrenceburg actually we're pretty good. While you didn't have as much light in Glendale Auto racks have fairly shiny Exteriors so the cars were still visible and you can tell whose they were. Actually since you've already shot at LaGrange one of the things that helps there is the relatively low speed. Railroading is 24 hours a day so some night photos are more than welcome. You know those dogs are always monkeying around 24 hours a day whereas Norfie tends to nap.

i just started watching your videos, i always loved large trains, but not as much as you.i have two questions for you. when a train comes down the middle of the street, was the train tracks there before the town, or did the train companies figure that through the town would be the best route for the train. also does the DPU's on the train help push the cars being pulled by the maim locomotive, or are they there to pull the rest of the cars behind it
