Aloo Tikki Chaat Recipe
Ingredients:
For Aloo Tikki:
4 medium-sized potatoes (boiled and mashed)
1/2 cup green peas (boiled and mashed)
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon chaat masala
1 teaspoon garam masala
2 tablespoons coriander leaves (finely chopped)
Salt to taste
Oil for shallow frying
For Chaat Toppings:
1/2 cup yogurt (whisked)
2 tablespoons tamarind chutney
2 tablespoons green chutney (coriander and mint)
1/4 cup onion (finely chopped)
1/4 cup tomato (finely chopped)
1/4 cup cucumber (finely chopped)
1/4 cup sev (crispy chickpea noodles)
Chaat masala (for sprinkling)
Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Aloo Tikki:
In a mixing bowl, combine the boiled and mashed potatoes, boiled peas, cumin seeds, red chili powder, chaat masala, garam masala, coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well.
Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into small round patties (tikkis).
Fry the Tikkis:
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Shallow fry the tikkis until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Assemble the Chaat:
Place 2-3 tikkis on a serving plate.
Drizzle whisked yogurt generously over the tikkis.
Add tamarind chutney and green chutney to your taste.
Top with chopped onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers.
Sprinkle chaat masala over everything.
Add sev on top for crunch.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve:
Serve immediately with extra chutneys on the side.
