As a 90° corner enthusiast hearing so many 90° corners in this series has made me 90° all over the place

As I remember, the AIS was active for a lot of years, running outdated Indycar chassis with small block Chevy engines. I thought they ran races mostly in the western US and didnt know they ran in Halifax, NS. Checking Wikipedia, I see the AIS existed under that name from 1988-2002, and the champion of the first two seasons was Buddy Lazier, who later won the first Indy 500 sanctioned by the IRL.

I had no clue that Nova Scotia had a street circuit race. I live in Newfoundland which is the next Province east of Nova Scotia in Canada and I just find it cool that they even had one to begin with. I looked at a map of where the track was on Google Maps and the area where that awful chicane and pit road entry is now, has a Round About in it.

The Moosehead Grand Prix was also hosted at CFB Sheerwater in 1994 and 1995 when IMSA's top class raced there in a 500 km endurance event. There's footage of both events that clearly shows why the event only lasted 2 years of a planned 5 year contract.

I think one that would be interesting to do is Fundidora Park in Monterrey Mexico, which ran CART/Champ Cart from 2001-2006(and there's less 90 degree corners to worry about)
@musyarofah1 Жыл бұрын
nah man, Monterrey is not a failure and I still hope Indy would return.
@Theel25 Жыл бұрын
@@musyarofah1 By failure, it doesn't mean it's a "bad track". Failure just means that the circuit doesn't exist anymore. Like Zurich for example.

The American IndyCar Series being a headline series isn't a bad pick for a new street circuit in a city like Halifax given by then the Grand Prix of Troix Riviere would have been well over 20 years active by that point, most of which where headlined by Formula Atlantic. For series like this, it's less who's the headlining feature race and more about the race weekend itself, which is why no one has taken issue with the fact that over the years GP3R has had changed its feature race from open wheel racing to prototypes, GTs, and Stock Cars.

My favorite part of this series is the from to :D Pretty meh circuit but the elevation in the start/finish straight and the downhill first corner is quite good in Street Track Failures standards.

Proposing a new series in addition to this: Unknown street tracks. I know this one would be hard to find a ton of info on but just throwing it out there. My first example video would be for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix in Schenley Park. It's a 41 year running temporary street circuit. There should be plenty of footage of this track out there (some can be found on my channel even!) It's crazy that I don't know about any more failed street tracks besides combing through racing series pasts on Wikipedia or something.

What is your preferred pitlane-start-finish configuration? F1-regular -- finish line before the first garage, start line possibly a few metres down the road if the grid needs more room F1-alt (Monaco, Albert Park) -- start/finish line after last garage American classic -- start-finish line halfway along pits Mid-Ohio -- start line on other part of track for rolling starts Occasional street track variation -- start/finish line on a completely different part of track due to local circumstances Also, what is your view on the Indycar system of having an alt start-finish before pit in for qualifying, so that cars can go straight into the pits upon end of hotlap?

But I would be most happy about the following tracks: Tamiami Park in Miami (1985-1988), Bicentennial Park in Miami (1995) -> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Prix_of_Miami_(open_wheel_racing) Concord Pacific Place in Vancouver (I 1990-1997, II 1998-2004) -> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molson_Indy_Vancouver Houston Street Circuit (I 1998-2001, II 2007-2014) -> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Prix_of_Houston Maybe two Las Vegas episodes should you publish arround the Formula 1 race in Las Vegas. Should be good for the algorithm. Caesars Palace in Las Vegas (I 1981-1982, II 1983-1984) -> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesars_Palace_Grand_Prix Las Vegas Street Circuit (2007) -> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Las_Vegas_Grand_Prix
