You should 100% buy an STI hatchback, they are very commonly use for professional rally drivers in Norway, where rally is just perfect. You can basically use stock setup, only need suspension, weight reduction and cage etc. And buy parts from Martin schanche and you'll be golden.

That car has so much history in hillclimb, the original owner Alex is an awesome guy and has done a few really interesting 80-90s era racecar builds. Corner balanced, steering actually dialed in and the bushing felt with so it's not a sloppy mess!!!! Some grippy tires that inspire confidence with the other fixes and you actually having seat time, I can see this car being damn near the fastest you can be at the compound for such little horsepower!!! I would say efi and turbo the motor but that chassis is too sketch for anymore horsepower than you already run lol

Don't forget to warm up the tires with a couple laps and drain those fuel bowls when it sits! The fuel bowls are vented to allow atmospheric pressure to push fuel in(fuel pump only fills the bowls). Some top end lube may help but straight non-ethanol gasoline would be better.

For a rally car you should really look into a MK2 Escort with a Millington Diamond engine and the standard 5-link rear end set up. There is a reason why they are still so popular even though they are coming up to 50 years old. They might not be as quick as a 4WD car but they are so much fun to drive.

Hyundai i20 N Rally1 that’s the rally car you need and you’ll dominate. It costs a tiny bit more than the subies but worth every penny. And it is WRC compliant.

I'm a huge fan of time attack and some of my favorite videos of yours are at the track with the Evo V and Gt350 (before it caught fire at said track lol). Tommy is a genius for sending you the car to let it speak for itself instead of selling you on it. 😂😂
