Carnage - Trolvo Gets a New Turbo!

What great way to see the start of a Friday, seeing the Trolvo getting some more boosty noise. 9's are a coming.

I was about to say that it's crazy that you're running a bone stock 1JZ and are hoping to make 600+ whp, but I made 412 whp reliably on a bone stock (with head studs and a Cometic head gasket) Honda 1.8L DOHC non-VTEC B18B1. I had only done a stock rebuild on it with OEM NPR rings, and ACL Race rod and main bearings with a stone honing. The stock PR4 internals held 15 psi from a Turbonetics 60-1 with no issues...and that was on 93 octane pump gas! I'll be excited to see what this old girl can make on 2.5L and that good sized G35 turbo. You gotta love those new G series turbos, they're just the best.

Hey Mate-if you use a heavy steel nut and string instead of the wire on the rag-it just drop right through to the other side-then just pull it through to clean.

Started getting all the stock barra turbo parts for my ef xr6, basically going to copy the Au xr6 you did, except with a haltech, all used parts minus the 6boost adapter flange, water and oil lines and exhaust as they will need to be sohc/ef specific, I'm going to try and beat supermangs 1/4 mile time, then call it a win lol

Just a heads up on the coolant pressure Scotty, That Green cap holds 1.5 Bar soooo the cooling system is sealed tighter than a mermaids freckle. The Grey cap runs .75 bar from memory and its what should be OE on an earlier 240 and more likely to vent to atmos.

Always keep the amount of bespoke one-of-a-kind parts to the absolute minimum. Modify the custom-made intercooler piping, not the off the shelf housing. This way if the housing ever needs replacing it's stock for stock, no extra effort required. It's best to follow this principle with every single system and part on every car wherever possible.

If those Pulsar turbos really are "as good as" the Garrett ones they're ripping off, then you should be able to get enough air out of it to make 750+ rear wheel horsepower out of a nice high-VE engine like a 1JZ. Just depends on whether the fuel system and engine internals are up to it.

I saw Trent from Chequred tuning had a JZX100 with one of these turbos in the other day and made 600rwkw or thereabouts, so ALOT of power. Makes my 414rwkw 1JZ seem quite sedate by comparison, and I never thought I'd say 400rwkw was a small power figure.

There are guys that have pushed it passed that but you are well outside the scope of the compressor map. It can make 1050 no problems with the right setup but as he said the ratings are generally flywheel

Hi, was trying to work out why you didn't use titanium nuts on bottom of manifold, was it because you couldn't get spanner on? Can you buy titanium nuts with standard 6 flats? cheers

Shhh, you weren't supposed to notice that, but yes in a couple spots the pipes were too tight to the nuts and so a ring spanner would fit and an open ender doesn't work on 12point nuts
