Great footage, one of the things I love about your videos is the creative use of 'clean' expletives...oh ya beast. My kids like watching your videos and I can relax knowing the language will be appropriate for wee ears 😁

Cheers man! I appreciate the feedback. I work as Depute Head Teacher in a primary school so I've made sure the vids are family friendly. On some of the gnarly trails that can be difficult!!! Thanks for taking time to comment. I'd forgotten about this adventure. It was such a good ride!

Ha ha. I actually have no idea why the socks stayed on 🤣 The knee pads was for a wash but the socks 🤷‍♂️ I think I was tired and not thinking straight after a big day out!

This one leaves me speechless. The absolutely stunning shots from the top really are breath taking. Not to mention the skillful riding on those VERY steep loose sections. Out of this world!

Another excellent video, great to see another mountain ride. Really enjoyed the drone footage. Did a different ascent/descent but second all the comments on Sgor Gaoith - a truly magical place to go biking. Glen Feshie/Feshiebridge are also stunning.

Thanks Martin. I don't know the Cairngorms well but I am quickly learning to love them. I'd consider an ebike as well however don't fancy shouldering one on the climbs we did - potentially there is a more pedal friendly route though 👍

Great video…will def try it when the snow clears. I grew up in Scotland but moved away in 1984. Laughed out loud when on one of the downhill sections you called out ‘Jings!” Haven’t heard that word for ages! Loved it.

@@streetpigeonmtb London then Hong Kong and US, now retired in Sussex. Usually spend a couple of weeks every year (May and September) riding in Scotland and follow people like you and McTrailrider to research routes. Really useful.

@@streetpigeonmtb the new rig is awesome, rides like a proper beast, especially with the 170 up front. It’s lifted the front end up real nicely. Still suffering a bit with a bad neck though, so looking for a different bar set up. Gunna have to go narrower, back sweep, and a slight rise, just to bring my head up whilst in the pedalling position.

I'd totally recommend that descent we did. It's a bit more of an effort to get to but it truly is an incredible piece of descending. The views are 🙌

@@streetpigeonmtb yes mate cant see it being this year for sure but hopefully next . We go every year to the French and Italian Alps and what a place .....dont get me wrong you dont get better trails than say the Golfie but you get some huge descents and crazy steepness. Dont fall into the trap of going to Morzine because it's not really that good but le plenny with it's off piste is pure world class terror!

Nice video. Highlands are stunning and that view East across the Cairngorm plateau in particular. Interested to know what youd think the route clockwise would be like. Would it be easier to go up the zig zags (hikeabike) and down the other side. Great vlogs - keep posting.

I think the same route clockwise wouldn't be much fun. I feel like the climb could be more difficult and the descent a lot less fun. It's so difficult to say though. I guess the only way to find out is to go and try them all!

It's some place. I honestly felt pretty emotional at the summit. It was so calm and the drop to the Loch gave an amazing sense of depth. Scotland is stunning at times 😍

Yeah, I defo went down the worst decent in comparison! After my ride up there, I was happy it was done….no return necessary, got the pics…job done…now I need to go back and do that decent 😂

I think we totalled about 5 hours. It wasn't a crazy long day but I was feeling it on that last descent!

My sense of geography isn't great. I don't suppose you have access to Strava? I included a link to my Strava ride in the video description. That shows you the exact route we took. Feel free to download the .gpx and use it 😁

Yeah, I saw your vid. I don't regret the 29er comments. I wouldn't ride anything else in the hills. I have nothing against 650bs though. For me they really come alive on the tight and twisty forest trails 😁

It does. I'd choose a 29er with well set up suspension over a 650b with well set up suspension for this particular route 👍
