The film wasn't called a "rock and roll fable" for nothing.

So cool intro and that fade in scene of Willem Dafoe is so badass

Is there a greater scene in the history of film? I've watched this clip probably 70 times and it never gets old! I fell in love with her as a kid when I watched The Outsiders, and then again when I watched Streets of Fire. She was one of my first crushes and she aged really nicely, too.

This song and video just keep bringing me back again and again! Probably the greatest start to any movie ever; one of the greatest soundtracks ever...and Diane Lane is stunning!

A masterclass in Cinema. Sound, lighting, camera, editing sets up the whole movie. Saw in a theater when it came out and was blown away, a classic by Walter Hill that I watch at least once a year.

Diane Lane was 19 when she did this movie. Her parents broke up when she was 13 days old. Her father got possession when she was six. He was a NYC cab driver. When he couldn't find a babysitter she would ride around in his taxi. I read about people getting a rough start. She won an an Oscar for Unfaithful with Richard Gere.

She never won an Oscar, she was nominated. She lost to Nicole Kidman, who won for her performance in "The Hours".

@@fdcm_bI Am I the only one who finds The Hours to be tedious and painful to watch? I don't agree with rewarding it with Oscars, but I do agree the author found the right title for it.

Always watching. Soundtrack is in my playlist. Is there any better way to be introduced to Willem Dafoe? Once his face highlighted you knew it was going to be great.

I was 24 years old when I saw this movie while living in the San Francisco Bay Area. It struck me hard 💖💕. I was young and thought I could be, and do anything. I moved to L.A and gave it my best shot at fulfilling my Dream of becoming a actor. I met many of my Big Screen hero's while chasing my Dream, and it was the most alive I've ever felt, and The best time of my life 👨🌟🌟
