@@kaliguyver7924 As an American movie, especially an American movie from the 1980s, the only truly important market was the US market. Things have changed a bit in recent times, at least for tent pole movies like "Top Gun: Maverick" and those dreadful superhero flicks, but in the old days foreign markets meant pocket change at the very best.

In 1999, I was driving solo from Ottawa, Ontario to Anaheim, CA, and I was playing this whole soundtrack on cassette while driving through the N/W corner of Arizona where the Interstate 15 is very curvy as it runs down a river valley. The music accentuated the maneuvering of the drive. It was glorious.

Its not really a musical. There's music being performed in the film, but by nowhere is it a musical. They don't break into songs out of the blue, though I wished Rick Moranis sang "Suddenly Seymour" in the movie.

Diane Lane was 19 when she did this movie. Her parents broke up when she was 13 days old. Her father got possession when she was six. He was a NYC cab driver. When he couldn't find a babysitter she would ride around in his taxi. I read about people getting a rough start. She won an an Oscar for Unfaithful with Richard Gere.
