The original version of the mod was basically just "Original Blaze good, Cursed Arcades bad", but this recent update with new moves and combinations really looks like it's developing a life and identity of its own, which is very positive. I'll have to give it a try in the future!

This video is so awesome. The hype brought by the music is as much as (if not more) than the original DLC trailer almost 3 years ago. And the clips you guys used to showcase the combos and the potentials was as sweet as heaven

In 5.2, I really dislike it where you can't just use spirit palm. This one seems to fixed that.

There are a few new moves, and many existing moves that were adjusted to change the dynamics of how they are executed so they work as an expanded moveset. Over the next few days Rilsy will release guide videos for each character to showcase how to use the enhanced moves

GREAT !! Is it finally possible to run with Blaze and Axel in SOR4? Also Z axis roll/evade ? Would be great features for the update!

It won't be within scope for our work, we don't have the resources/knowledge to create and deliver custom assets

@@neddyf00 that is kind of you to volunteer, but there are several reasons we chose to keep running/rolling out of scope for this project 1. Even with assets, we don't know how to make the game recognize custom assets (swapping them isn't an acceptable solution) 2. They would cause input clashes with the expanded moveset that would make us have to rethink the control scheme (was already quite difficult) 3. All characters already have amazing mobility, so there isn't much value giving them runs and rolls apart from it being mostly cosmetic I hope this makes the situation clear, as I would hate for you to spend effort only to have your amazing work not be used. If you really want to however, you could always try to create the assets and share them on GameBanana or another modding site. Perhaps someone else might be able to figure it out in future 🙏

I have a suggestion. Can the smal cutscene where the cop drives in in Estel's Backup requested be removed? Let it look like the boss version where she just spawns the rocket immediately. No need for the short cutscene. Also...will retro characters get some love too?

Retros will get some love but we need time to figure them out because they have really limited sprites. We're not going to be removing the cutscene though, because it's quite iconic to the series and I think a lot of people aren't going to like it. It would be like removing the blades of chaos from a God of War sequel. Thanks for the suggestion regardless

👉🏽 I wish the mod SOR makers would remake a RE4 engine version of Sor1,2,3, with all the RE4 selectable characters, selectable in the sor1,2,3 games.

I'm not sure if I understood your comment. If you're asking for the SOR 1-3 characters to get upgrades to be able to do have expanded move-sets like the SOR4 cast, we're working on it, but it will take some time since we are all doing this part-time. Is that perhaps what you are asking for?

Quick question. Would you be able to create new character slots so people can add custom characters with original moves like streets of rage 2? Also, would you be able to restore the mature voice blaze had in the beta?

I'm afraid both of those would be out of scope for us as they would be too much effort for our small team. I will eventually make our editor public though, so perhaps then someone passionate enough might be able to implement custom characters I created a voice pack for Blaze based on Tifa Lockhearts VA from FF7R already, so you could check that out if you want a more mature voice. Takes some patching of the sound files though which might not be trivial to everyone.

@FuzzYetDeadly I was also thinking would the enemies get overhauled too? The game is too centered around blitzing and packing the enemies into one spot for repetitive combos. I'd like to see an update on enemy properties and AI if that'll be alright

@@weaponx8263 it's planned in a future version. We're trying to get all the player characters done first. Unfortunately I'm not able to give a timeline as to when it might happen because there is a lot of changes we have planned in the next versions We still don't really know how to tune the AI at this point as we haven't mapped out the data for it. Currently we have access to mostly characters and level information

We've got a few people helping to explore the bigfile data to try and figure out what is what at the Reignited discord server (need to get the link from the video description, I'm not allowed to share links in comments). If you'd like to have a go hop on and say hi and I'll sign you a role so you can see the channels But for quality control purposes we're keeping the editing team small (just Soulfire team members)

Is this for story mode only? My survival mode crashes after ever attempt.

Yes, this is for the story mode and for the arcade. For some reason, survival mode crashes.

Did you do everything according to the instructions? can you describe in detail how exactly you did it, at what point the crash occurs, do you have a steam version? Does the game work without the mod? is the correct patch version installed? (there should be an 8th patch)

Which platform are you attempting to install on? We've built this mod for the steam version, and it's only been confirmed to work for PC and steam deck, so if you tried it on a different platform, it likely isn't compatible (we don't own devices for those platforms so we can't really check) If you are on steam you can probably verify the integrity of game files to get the game back to it's default faults, though hopefully you have a backup

@@Subzeranea do you know the version of the free copy? If it's not v8 then that's probably the reason it's not working. The mod was built on top of v8. If you revert back to your free copy you should be able to check at the bottom right of the screen to see if it says v08 at the bottom If the version is correct then I'm afraid I'm not sure what the problem might be

Just to confirm, when you load the game, does the version at the bottom right start with something like v8-s? If it's v7-s it won't work because the bigfile we modded is from v8. It isn't compatible with the exe for v7 due to changes the devs made to the file structure
