I wouldn’t say it’s the power she’s lost, but the crystal-clear clarity and purity of the sound - her voice has got huskier. According to a comment on another KZbin video from this era, her voice is very dynamic but has always lacked volume.

Epic. I saw her in 2012 & the whole thing basically made my life. Seeing this song live was the icing, though it was a medley that tour, only wish it would've been the full song like here. 74 and still looks and sounds amazing!

I just watched her sing this 23 years ago on video. she's got the mojo now more than then. I saw here in August. I thought I was going die, faint, whatever. The vibrato is outstanding.

This song is from the play, “Funny Girl”, which she opened and played in the starring role in 1964. This was the beginning of a lustrous career! The movie by the same name came out in the 70’s. She is a fine singer and actress!

G-d doesn't have an "o" in my faith as a reminder that no word can capture all that G-d is; G-d is beyond being distilled into a single word. It's a form of respect of G-d's immense presence--some of which is beyond human understanding--that the "o" is left out. Very common among us Jews to write G-d without the "o."

I saw her live and this audio is nowhere near true to how it sounded (although still pretty good). Suffice to say, she sounded absolutely incredible live and hit many of the same notes (though not in this song as she changed the arrangement) as she does on recorded versions.

Yes. Don't get me wrong folks, I'm a died-in-the-wool Streisand FANATIC... and still am..... her live performance is just not there anymore, although she continues to produce beautiful records. She may not have the range she once did, and her voice is a little scratchy, but she still has chops... just in the studio and not live.

I agree! I don't know why everyone is in such denial about a voice that has been destroyed. Facts are facts. I loved Barbra all my life, but the last 4 times I've seen her in concert I wanted to leave before intermission. It was so depressing to listen to her painfully croaking out her hits. Her voice used to soar with effortlessness, now it just hurts. I was offered a free ticket to her recent concert here in LA at Staples Center, but I chose not to go, it's just too pathetic. Sorry if this enrages her fans, but the voice that made her great has been completely and permanently destroyed.

I'm a die hard fan too, but I don't like the raspy , hoarse voice. She 's also overweight ! I call it as I see it. She cant hit any of the notes I used to love hearing.I think I played Encore about twice and then stopped listening to it. I think the albums/CD ' s are produced in a way that we don't hear the harshness. i was watching Bassey for her 80 th bday celebration and she sounds phenomenal ! I don't even think Streisand can sing People anymore or The Way we Were like they were originally intended to be sung, she can't hit those notes ! I think Most of us are in love with who she is, and what she used to sound like, rather than the performer she is now.
