Content was great! Here's a question that I never seem to find an answer to: when programming, how do you decide the amount of volume for a given lifter?
@SzatStrength
@SzatStrength 4 жыл бұрын
There is no concrete answer best thing to do is start somewhere and follow it through on point and monitor how you feel and how training numbers are working out. Then adjust accordingly. I have clients who respond different to volume but I give them a base block and then work off how they respond to it.

@@SzatStrength Question: How do you know when to increase or decrease volume and frequency, how can you simply evolve your current program to get even better? Im doing a Posterior (and squat) Pressing splitt My pressing volume: Monday: Bench 5x5+ Z-Press 3x8+ Incline 3x12+ Some delt work Skullcrushers 3x20+ +means last set all out Thursday: OHP 5x5+ Bench 3x5 (same weight as for the 5x5+) DB Bench 3x10+ Standing Skulls 2x20+ Would splitting it up into 3 days with 2 “compound” each and removing the tricep isolation exercises and slowly increase the puse triceps work later. Would it be a great approach to slowly increase the volume? Will of course do something similar for the back

Damn it Joseph. Alan and Brian and you have to stop uploading at the same time. I only can only watch one at a time.

Any chance you guys could actually read the 531 BBB program and re-answer the question? It's one of Wendler's solutions to the "low volume" problem with 531. It would be nice to get your input on how effectively it addresses the issue

I will have to check it out! Like I said in the video I never heard of it, but the main thing I've heard from other on the original 5/3/1 was lack of volume as they progressed which makes complete sense with any program as you get better to be honest. I ll check it out!

What about the amount of rest between sets and exercises? It’s surprisingly hard to find info about this on KZbin since everyone cuts their vids and seems to not mention rest time.
@dennisjordan5917
@dennisjordan5917 4 жыл бұрын
I can probably go find the study’s if you want but from my knowledge the science says 3-5 min rest between working sets is the best range for performance. Less than that your still too fatigued, much more than that your probably starting to get “cold” again

Regarding 531, there is a new book which has been out for a few years now and addresses the programme by introducing new templates, which can be switched to and from on completion of each. 531 is not one, single programme and not a quickly exhausted one trip pony. "531 doesn't have enough volume or frequency" is a misinformed meme.
