I started running in 2022, I ran 268mi. Last year I ran 589mi. My goal for 2024 is 1000mi and a marathon in December (CIM). I’ve already signed up for 7 races throughout the year, 3 road races, 4 trail, nothing longer than 18mi until October when marathon training is in full swing.

Nice work! Tracking annual mileage is really fun when you get to years 5+... that's when you've built a foundation that will support some higher mileage levels.

@@JasonFitzgerald yea my goal is qualify for, and complete, Western States by age 40, I turn 35 this year! Getting my base built has been a process, but fun for sure. I played college football as a Corner, was an all American, but never really ran long distances before. This is my new physical (and mental) challenge.

Started running continuously at the end of 2022. Signed up for Houston marathon last year for a one year running anniversary after having run 1200 miles. Ran it at around 3:30:00. I’m looking forward to be closer to 3 hours in the Fall.

i started to track my milage in 2014, most years it was back and forth between 300 and 700 km. last year I rand 2000km and also broke my Marathon PB I set almost 20 years ago 🤗. also my first year with continuous running specific strength training, running technique focus and little to no injuries.

Thanks Jason. Have been listening to you since last years Everesting (yes, mtb) attempt. Didn't quite make it and only did about have the Everesting before giving up due to tummy issues. This year I've entered my first trail marathon (and, well... first marathon ever). It's about 24 weeks away but from listening to your podcasts (as well as being a ling distance cyclist) I think I'm preparing well. This week I've upped the mileage to about 24 miles total but from tomorrow I'll have a super easy/slow week. Thanks again for all your fantastic podcasts with various specialists in the sport and the human body/nutrition in general. I'm hoping that before 50 (47 now and always hated running) I'll comolete my first trail ultra (if I live that long obvs). Take care...

Cross training, even doing tabata jump rope workouts for anaerobic efforts, milage increases because you are a liitle faster for a 1hr run or more consistent runs by preventing injury

Very Important to note is that while c You can get aerobicly fit very quickly your body (muscle and facias, tendons can follow that quickly. Aerobicly it would be quite easy to 40 km every week an then go up to 60km or more but you would stress you tendons to much and quite quickly

My goal is 120 miles per month. I don’t have any race in particular just run.

Real good video again about coach and he’s a coach for ultras you know tell them might get ready for my another hundred mile and first thing he’s having me do is run fastest it’s like mile on the trail races 5K you know and track work and I was like huh he said we get your speed up. You’ll never have to worry about cut off times he said in a little carry you through strength running strength is running strength and I went through a program has a year ago and I thought it was crazy but when I got to my race, my goal race of that year I was so fit and I was confident in my ability to hit the times that it made it a great day. He also said that they the fast races Like 5K and under even trail races or road he said bring back joy of running isn’t that just us crazy long suffering in the mountains kind of a day and he was right it all worked. It was all really good. I was shocked by him you know getting ready for 100 mile race why I’m gonna be spending two days a week at the track or something or he’ll repeat and but, it was smart and it got me to love this short distance runs I love a good 3 to 5 mile trail race now I think they’re good as always appreciate everything you give to the community
